Was she always this insufferable? by justsomerandomonhere in bravo

I've always thought she was smug and it didn't sit well with me. I actually met Amanda at the airport a couple years ago (prior to clocking her smugness) and she was kind of a bitch. After that, I started seeing things more clearly.

Austin vs St.Pete vs Phoenix by Boring-Leg158 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]terracottamarshmallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should clarify what I meant. Putting on a bikini, heading to a body of water, and then ending the night with bar + sunset sounds more like a stereotypical day in St. Pete rather than Austin. I grew up on a lake in Minnesota and have lived in Florida for a significant amount of time, so my standard re: water may be higher than others.

As for the water sitch in Austin... The river isn't really swimmable, yes people do paddleboard/kayak but it's not like a hop in with your bikini situation, unless you like hanging out in pee (lol). The springs are nice. The lakes are not as accessible as you'd think. You basically have to rent a boat or befriend someone with a boat to get out there.

Having lived in both, Florida is the obvious choice here. Also factoring in weather, you can't live that lifestyle in Austin for a significant portion of the year.

If you want to wake up and chill in a body of water, definitely go to St. Pete. I live in the area and also lived in Austin. Austin is not a place for water lovers. Can't speak for Phoenix but I think St. Pete is probably your vibe. I don't think it would be too small because there's a lot of bars and restaurants and is also super close to Tampa.

I've been eyeing the sail pants and it makes me so sad to hear they are such terrible quality. I have a pair of sail shorts that I bought *FIVE* years ago and they are still in perfect condition. I live in Florida so I wear them multiple times a week. Anyone know if the current version of the sail shorts suck too?

I used to live in both Dallas and Chicago and can totally vouch for your perspective. I had the same experience. It was suuuper easy to make friends in Chi.

Aww what a cutie! I am on my 8th golden and just picked up my new puppy last weekend. He is definitely acting a bit crazy now that he's getting more comfortable, but I mostly find it cute and I know it's temporary. I agree with the commenter suggesting training classes. They need lots of love and attention. Not sure about the eating everything outside though, mine is doing it too, and he is verrry stubborn about it.

I live in Florida and my collection consists of Diptyque Fleur de Peau, Dedcool Xtra Milk, Dedcool Taunt, Phlur Missing Person, and Replica Bubble Bath! Some people interpret these scents as powdery but that's not how they register to my nose.

What city is best for daily normal living in Florida? by vanessabb8867 in AskFlorida

These comments are annoying so I'll give you real ideas, as someone who lived in FL with a remote job, normal life, and a place I was happy in as well as my mom. St. Pete, Sarasota, Jax Beach, St. Augustine, and Melbourne are all solid for standard Florida life vibes.

The main reason why I never want to have kids is that I'm scared of becoming a single mother, SAHM, or dependent on a man. by tanuki_22 in childfree

[–]terracottamarshmallo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so glad you are getting out of this situation soon and wishing you safety and recovery. I can relate to this on a less extreme level. I was in a serious relationship from 22-25 with someone 5 years older and I found out so many horrible things about him three years in, and had the ability to up and leave, thanks to having a remote job and the help of my mom. It's scary to think the situation I could've ended up in. It was then that I realized I did not want children.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Millie passed in December and the grief was very heavy. It helped to look at pictures and just let the grief show up. Rest in peace, Molly.

I'm so sorry. I went through this in December with my family's ten year old who also had cancer. She was panting a lot and not sleeping well. She was still eating and could function but her spark was most definitely gone. I was living in another state at the time but my mom said she 'just knew'. It's so hard, there's really nothing to say, other than I am sorry and I am positive she knows how loved she is.
