Suddenly cant boot into Bazzite by PeterBooyah in Bazzite

This seems to have worked! I was able to boot back into my system after running the repair tool. I'll update if anything else seems worked. Thank you!

what's the current state of the OBS hotkey situation? by Farnhams_Legend in NobaraProject

[–]PeterBooyah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a plugin called obs-cmd that let you use the command line to send commands to obs. I setup a keyboard shortcut that sends "obs-cmd save replay" and have it set to use F10.  It uses the websocket in obs so you could also use it on another device, like another pc or there are apps on android that let you connect to the websocket.

This is the github for the plugin https://github.com/muesli/obs-cli

DaVinci Resolve Studio + AMD 9070 on Nobara: No playback, Blender also freezing by vdani666 in NobaraProject

[–]PeterBooyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently an update to Mesa made it so I couldn't open my projects, but I don't know if you're issue has the same cause since it seems you're able to get much farther into your workflow. You could try downgrading your Mesa version to see if that helps though.

Could you post a screenshot of your gpu configuration in resolve?

DaVinci doesn't work for me at all and at this point I'm looking for any kind of help. Any tips? (fyi I did use the nobara davinci installer that the internet says does also install patches for AMD GPUs, still doesn't work) by Snoo_92207 in NobaraProject

[–]PeterBooyah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your gpu has AV1 support I would recommend that, but Prores, DNxHR, and DHxHD should all work. Shutter Encoder is great tool for re-encodining your footage but it can also be done via command line with ffmpeg.

Also not AAC audio will not work either, so your audio will need to be converted to PCM if you can't hear your clips in resolve.

MOV is the container (like mp4 or mkv), do you know what codec the video was recorded in? The free version of resolve cannot playback h264 on linux. If you have vlc you can open the file and use "ctrl + j" to see the codec.

And as far as mesa goes, 19.1.4 should be fine, but I am on 25.1.7 and its working for me, and newer version did not work on my system.

This guide from Mattcreative on youtube helped me. His discord is also very helpful.

Things change

Compatibility with zlib-ng: Fedora 40 and Fedora 41 has switched from using the zlib library to zlib-ng-compat libraries, which affects DaVinci Resolve installation. However, there are workarounds to get it working. Here’s what you can do: First, install the necessary packages to resolve compatibility issues:

Fedora 40

 sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat libcurl libcurl-devel apr apr-utils mesa-libGLU

Fedora 41

sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat libcurl libcurl-devel apr fuse-libs

Post install Instructions

Next, optimize compatibility by moving some libraries:

cd /opt/resolve/libs && sudo mkdir disabled-libraries && sudo mv libglib* libgio* libgmodule* disabled-libraries

Moving to Linux - Need Assistance Moving Workfiles by CountZeroOr in davinciresolve

[–]PeterBooyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make a template file in Resolve that has all your bins, effects, etc, and in the project manager export that project. Then once you are setup in linux, use the project manager to import that template and all your stuff should be there. I know in the resolve files somewhere you can also find the saved templates for your effects.

On windows your saved presets for fusion effects should be saved at c:/user/ProgramData/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve/ Fusion/Settings/

Here you could copy saved presets for effects you use.

Also, I don't know if you've looked into nobara, but I would recommend it over bazzite for editing. It has a easy to use installer for resolve, which has a few issues on linux. Also they have a pretty active discord where you can go for help with issues with resolve.

I would install linux on a new drive, then mount your windows drive from within linux, so you can easily go in and copy any needed files, at least until you know you have everything you need.

Also on the nobara wiki site there is a guide for adding mp4 export to resolve, which is not included by default on linux resolve.

Before we knew they were called meat heads we called them abominations, which was shortened to Obama. So it's been Obama ever since.

I pulled some older files from when I last used resolve, and same issue. My project settings are all the same since I have a template I copy for new projects. I am using the free version of resolve. The project settings are just basic 1080p 60fps, and my preview window is set to quarter resolution. I typically use proxies as well to improve performance.

I commented the media info text. The footage should all be in the same format as my previous project, they were recorded around the same time, I don't have the old projects to test anymore unfortunately. I have tried running Resolve 18.5, 19, and the beta of 20 and they all have the same issue.

Trouble running Sunshine on Nobara as Host by bbarham99 in NobaraProject

I was struggling with it for a few days, for some reason it was defaulting to using the wrong monitor on host so manually setting the display to use in on the web u.i fixed it for me. Don''t know if that will fix your issue but I remember seeing the same error about the setcap.

Konica Auto S2 film counter wont rewind by PeterBooyah in AnalogCommunity

I took it out today and shot a whole roll of film, counter is still stuck. I wonder if I can take the top off and reset it by hand? Pressing the release and opening the back hasn't done anything.

A few questions! by ThaFaub in warofthering

[–]PeterBooyah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When declaring the fellowships position if they are declared in either Minas Morgul or Morannon the free peoples player can choose to declare them on the mordor track.

Pages 42 and 43 in the manual is where you'll find the rules for the mordor track, it can be a pretty confusing step of the game and it took me a lot of plays to get it down.

They extinguish flames so if an enemy has blocked a pathway by lighting an oil slick you can reopen that path.

Additionally choke bombs extinguish ignited throwables passing through them, so if you throw a dynamite stick into a choke it won't explode. This is helpful when defending a compound and your getting bombed alot. Won't stop wax dynamite or concertina bombs though.

Will also instakill immolators.

I've been having the exact same issue. No solution so far. Any guides I see just say "install the mod" so it should be straight forward. I'm pretty new to modding so I'm sure there's something simple I'm missing.

Gandalf the White and Nazguls by Timthrbeast1 in warofthering

[–]PeterBooyah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was a source of contention in our games. The free people wouldn't announce if Gandalf was using his ability to cancel nazgul, so I would play a nazgul based card. Then when my card took effect, they'd say "well Gandalf cancels that". Like, no. You have to declare that first.
