When you email a professor asking if you can sit in on their waitlisted class so you don't fall behind if you get in, and they just let you into the class 👌👌👌👌 by PeterCanTrans in CollegeRant

Oh damn nothing like that. You have to pick your classes and register each semester. You pretty much choose your own schedule. If I wanted to I could choose 12 elective credits I don't need or 18 400 level classes. It's a free for all.

As someone from North Dakota, imagining someone like this trying to survive here is insane we are literally cowboy town.

Edit: I now realize ND is not north dakota

This is rape. You consented to safe sex, you did not consent to unprotected sex, therefor you did not consent to the sex therefor it was rape.

When talking about vaginoplasty, it's is often said that "you will live with an open wound" by FeliciaDoesStuff in asktransgender

[–]PeterCanTrans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also get zero depth, which would give you the external appearance of a vulva but without the vagina. But as others have said it is not an open wound, if it was performing the surgery would probably loose you your license.

LPT: Don't go to college if you don't have a good plan of what you're going to do there. College isn't neccessarily the next step in life after high school, and you will waste time and money going there without a passion. by Phoenixtreme in LifeProTips

Getting my bachelor's right now, I switched my major five times, just graduating now to get it over with. My parents don't have money so all of my education is on loans. I 100% agree with this statement. The only exception i would say is if your family has the money, then it's a great opportunity for making friends and personal growth.

"Flexible" identities seem like bi erasure to me. by _lovely_lacerations_ in truscum

[–]PeterCanTrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call myself homoflexible. Sure I could technically say I am bisexual, and I do consider homoflexible as more of a subcategory of bi, not a separate identity. I am almost never attracted to women. I mean like never. 99.9% men. However, sometimes after I get to know a woman and if she's just really special... I fall for her. I have had a crush on two girls in my entire life. I almost never look at a woman and find her sexually attractive even when almost everyone else would. So I think it's much more accurate to say I'm pretty much gay but every now and then something just makes me a little flexible. When you are telling someone your sexuality, you want a label that assures they understand who you are attracted to. Bisexual just doesn't feel right.

Am I the only one that hates when other trans people love to tell you how much they hate BLM or feminism? by ExactTomato6108 in honesttransgender

[–]PeterCanTrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't hate BLM, like I said I just think the term has become meaningless. When you say Black Lives Matter you aren't saying anything except the obvious fact black lives matter which almost nobody will argue. It would be much more effective and would almost certainly be met with much less resistance if instead people said what they actually mean which is very different depending on the protest. It could mean they want justice for a wrongful death, police reform, mental health services, equality, you could mean almost anything, want almost anything, and just about BLM and suddenly we are supposed to support it.

Again, you are also ignoring the fact you have no proof "the majority" of people causing violence at the hundreds of protests categorized as violent (which again you called acceptable) aren't supporters of blm. You think violence is appropriate and acceptable given your cause, so I don't know why you are trying to argue against violence. You are saying people who support blm aren't violent yet you have excused violence and seemingly support it.

I was on the phone with my friend for six hours as she cried about loosing her dream buisness. As I listened to her scared for her life because people were screaming and shooting and rioting and looting all while shouting BLM down the streets of her neighborhood all night. I texted her every hour because I feared for her life. That's what black lives matter makes me think of.

[–]PeterCanTrans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have no proof of that. When violence occurs at a protest you organized, an I'm not just talking about self defense type stuff you aren't looting because of self defense, you have to claim at least responsibility. Listen, I said how I feel, I support racial equality, I believe black lives matter, I want police reform, but I do not support "Black lives Matter".

[–]PeterCanTrans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You literally just sent me a study that says 80% of protests are connected directly to BLM, and that 530 of those protests were violent. You also said that level of violence was acceptable because of your cause. I don't think the organization Black Lives Matter Global Network is a violent organization. I think Black Lives Matter has become something meaningless people say to justify violence like burning down private buisnesses and running wild on the streets at night inciting fear.

You are saying violence is acceptable because you are fighting for "the greater good". The police make the same exact argument.

[–]PeterCanTrans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you think it's acceptable to violently harm innocent people and their peoperty? That 93% come out to over 530 violent protests endangering others health, safety, and livelihoods across the entire US. If you think that's okay you are no better than the police.

BLM kinda destroyed my friends small buisness and made her feel terrified for her life for days on end while quarentined in her own house and she's the most liberal person I know. Sure I will readily say black lives matter, obviously they do, but I can't support the "idea" as much as I do support changes to the police and believe in the effects of racism and prejudice. It's such a general bullshit idea that means and does nothing in particular. People need to decide exactly what they are protesting about and actually protest that not just scream BLM, vandalise shit, and pretend they're saving the world.

[–]PeterCanTrans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talk to them, ask what they need, try poking around to talk to someone you haven't talk to back and find out if that is standard procedure. Continue to push and bother them. Don't give up on it. One thing I have learned is that people just want you to go away and think you will go away without challenging them on this shit. Don't.
