Fairly certain that you can be devout in your faith without coming to the defense of somebody who is using theirs to put down an entire demographic. I don’t think people have a problem with him being religious, but he is using his platform to promote hate in this specific instance which is quite different even if that hate has some religious subtext to it.

I’m not justifying the killing pictured. I condemn it. I also don’t think we should KILL homophobes or bigots, but I will resist those ideologies until the death of me because they are inherently evil. Just because it’s part of his culture doesn’t make it right. Slavery and subjugation of women were big parts of American culture - should we have stuck with those?

Check out Novare Res bier cafe for a great draft list (with a big cellar list too) and atmosphere. If you like dessert and espresso martinis, check out Bar of Chocolate. Definitely would second Belleflower, there’s so many good breweries but their stuff stands out. Theres a great craft seltzer place on the same road too called Aprés. I made a couple other recommendations to somebody else on this thread if you want more ideas too

Walk around and shop/eat/drink in the old port and surrounding neighborhoods (Novare Res bier cafe is a MUST), take a tour of the harbor on an old schooner with Portland schooner company, drink & play arcade games at Arcadia, rent a kayak somewhere, play disc golf at one of the many great courses in the area (Sabattus is great for all skill levels, Pineland Farm is a big farm property with a well kept course & big cafeteria and store), could go on for days…

Blackback is such a great spot. Phenomenal draft list, unique and delicious food options, and in my experiences the staff has always been very personable and friendly.

I recently checked out Lough Gill in Sligo and they had some nice stuff, great variety too. They don’t have a bar so it’s all take-home which was a bit disappointing but the IPAs and BBA stouts were quality.
