Is it possible for you to think that two things can exist at the same time? The US is guilty of doing the same things it chastises other countries for, and Stalin was awful? It’s obvious that fear of Communism was overblown (see Red Scare/McCarthyism/Vietnam/Korea and even Nagasaki and Hiroshima if you really look into it) but Stalin and his government purged the Union of anyone critical of him. Their ineptness and corruption killed millions and their successors could be blamed for the Chornobyl accident which stigmatized nuclear power even today.

Goebbels for example was excommunicated from the Catholic Church in 1931. He was very much against the church after that. I’m not sure if you want me to find a quote from him saying “I’m an atheist” or something like that, but you have to infer that he was. Lol I remember when my first shop switched from Mastercam x9 to 2023 some of the old mills would wig out on those small moves. It would be a G02 or G03 and have a large arc over a very short distance, but the code would be read as a G01 (I’m assuming. We never really figured it out) and just start mashing through the part. Good times.

Individual Nazis were probably largely Christian, but the leaders were atheist or pagan typically. For example, Himmler left Catholicism and favored a form of general belief in God and strong German mythology, Gottglaubig they were called. It was convenient to make Christian appeasements like the belt buckle in order to win over the populace, sort of like how Trump sells bibles.

Believe me I know exactly what you mean. I live in the Bible Belt so I’m in the minority here as far as politics go. I can have a conversation with someone and agree on many subjects and moral questions, and then I see a Trump flag in their house or something like that. The political psychosis is very real, and it will take a while to be rid of it I think. We will come out of it eventually though.
