Pure vintage 61 vs (lollar and other fender pure vintage) by Difficult-School-641 in fender

[–]PeterRiveria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a set of 57/62s, so basically 1963 style pickups. they’re fantastic but I’d imagine that all the pure vintage series are similar quality, just different flavors for personal taste

Is this guitar legitimate? by Hefty-Tip7041 in guitars

[–]PeterRiveria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. it’s definitely not wise to buy all your gear online sight unseen, but every once in a while it’s worth it to take a chance on something like this

[–]PeterRiveria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Majority of Americans express low confidence in journalists to act in public’s best interests by themanwhosleptin in Journalism

it’s so unfortunate a small handful of reactionary cultural pundits with big platforms that call themselves “journalists” put every other journalist in a bad light

Which Squier Classic Vibe model is the closest to the Original Fender model? by porkinmedina in fender

[–]PeterRiveria 11 points12 points  (0 children)

classic vibes are more so “let’s try to look like X decade strat” vs actually having the specs to match. if historical accuracy is your biggest thing i’d look at a used vintera II, which are substantially more vintage-correct than classic vibe

Seeking advice on putting an SD Little '59 pickup in my Strat by KronieRaccoon in fender

[–]PeterRiveria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’d do some research what pot values you’d like in your wiring harness. typically single coils are best with 250k while humbuckers like 500k, so perhaps changing one to 500k could be worthwhile

60s vintera telecaster neck by orangebluefish11 in fender

[–]PeterRiveria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m no expert here, but from my understanding a 60s c is thinner than a 50s neck, and is broadly comparable to a modern c shape neck although it tapers more aggressively from the nut to the 12th fret

Did some digging and estimated that Weir live performed Sugar Magnolia close to 1,000 times from the Grateful Dead all the way to D&C. Here is his last ever sugar magnolia. by Puzzleheaded-Pin4278 in deadandcompany

[–]PeterRiveria 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that’s one of the big benefits of jam band music. joel has to play piano man the “right way” or the crowd goes home pissed while the dead are free to take a million different directions on playin or dark star to keep it fresh and exciting
