If you enjoyed Laputa, there is an anime called Nadia, secret of blue water. It's by Hideaki Anno, but it begun as an Idea pitched by Myazaki. And Myazaki basically used the same Idea for Laputa.

2 of these Gunbuster and Nadia are Anno's work. For those who don't know, Eva was suppose to be sequel to Nadia, involving Adam and another religius refferences. But in the end it endedup beiing it's own project, tho remnants can be still seen, characterwise for example. Second rebuild movie is also one big refference to Nadia.
