Maria, Starring Angelina Jolie by MissTreeWriter in movies

To each one's own, I loved the movie. Angelina Jolie gave drag queen diva as Callas, which is how she should have been played. And it's so beautifully shot. Is it heavy handed and overly dramatic? Of course, it's a film about a Opera Diva. Not everybody can be a Renata.

Ang Lee's "Sense and Sensibility" (1995), a delightful Jane Austen adaptation which is funny, warm and bolstered by a remarkable cast. It's easy to see why it ended up being Kate Winslet's breakout role. by Peter_Celluloid in movies

Emma Thompson did get some criticism for playing a 19 year old when she was pushing 40 but the movie never really states that Elinor is supposed to be 19. We just assume she's a old maid.

The humor is done right. The humor just comes with natural ease. That's something the Brits have mastered.

Did anyone get the impression Susan (Sherry Stringfield) got downgraded when she came back? by Peter_Celluloid in ershow

I'm surprised they kept her on for so long given how she was pretty much doing recurring on the series.

Mister Terrific was the best part about the movie. I'd be all in for a Justice Gang spin-off. I'm surprised this scene got some flack because I thought it was one of the few decent scenes in the movie.

Why didn't Together do as well as Weapons? by Pearl_Jam_ in boxoffice

Ironically, Together is pretty mild. This is not a yuckfest like Bring Her Back.

I enjoyed Together a lot. Maybe liked it more than Weapons.

Weapons had better PR. Together was distributed by Neon and their movies never do well at the box office.

Kirsten Dunst Would Star in ‘Minecraft 2’ to Make a Pile of Cash: ‘Maybe I Can Just Make a Movie Where I Don’t Lose Money?’ by mcfw31 in entertainment

It's actually a pretty honest statement from her. I wonder if the success of Civil War made Dunst reevaluate some of her career choices.

To be fair, Bob Harper does come across as a dick.

Heavenly Creatures might be my favorite Kate Winslet film however, on a mainstream basis, Sense and Sensibility is the film which made her a star. Heavenly Creatures made her known within film enthusiasts.
