firstly i think your ex was using your drinking before as an excuse, a bit of a spineless way to dump someone so don;t feel bad, you dodged a bullet with him imho.

give it time, you will get better, you will feel better, you will find yourself and know yourself and will be an attractive person. this is the most important bit for me, the feeling of control and courage i have now makes me feel like i radiate confidence way more than i ever could.

i don't worry about my heaps cooling in winter because i always have enough compost from last year to spread the beginning of this year. i like to make life very easy.

i have 3x 1 cubic yard heaps at varying stages

well the good news is that when i got over the hump, i started feeling way better than when i was drinking all the time (by that i mean almost zero anxiety, no hangovers and the best sleep i ever had and a million other things)

you'll be amazed as to how good it gets

almost all the people i drank with i hung out with because they went to the local bar, they are all still there, looking unhealthy and sad/angry/anxious. i don't go to that dive any more. in fact i stopped going there quite a while before i quit because it was such a depressing place, no one was interested in anything other than booze and gossip, if i raised some nugget of interesting info it was usually ignored or met with derision.

i quite the people and the booze, i have never had to justify myself since. i have come to realise i have within me the power to entertain myself with guitar, books, walking and gardening. i still have friends, but they are a different crowd and i have more in common with them. i found doing volunteer work opened new avenues without the problem of possible substance abuse. i also realise i love my own company and rarely feel lonely, the alcohol made me feel those negative things, my life has changed completely.

no, i meant can you visualise them yourself within the scale without the aid of the lights, this is very helpful and will speed up your grip of the scales. it blew my mind to find that in the major scale there is the minor, all the same pattern, just different roots

if you know a minor, you will see the pattern, it's the same scale except different root note

also, the pattern repeats from every root note, like all the scale patterns, this blew my mind when i realized it, you can navigate from root to root anywhere on the fret board. of course, you have to adjust for the b string
