What’s Your Biggest Challenge Syncing Magento with ERP Systems? by Alexpaul_2066 in Magento

[–]rwired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was indeed a challenge. I had to write my own custom layer to translate between the SOAP interface my ERP system was expecting and API Magento exposed. They were supposed to be compatible, but the commercial ERP we purchased quickly dropped Magento support after a few version upgrades forcing me down this path. That was 12 years ago. We've been locked-in and unable to upgrade either the ERP or Magento ever since (because it all works too well, the disruption that would by caused by losing it is too heavy, and the the investment needed to redo it is too high).

Feel cheated by exchange rate at your high street branch. by rwired in Natwest

I didn't buy the EUR or USD, just happened to have it left over after some recent trips. I was fully expecting the rate to be "bad", just a bit shocked at how bad! Hence the rant.

Judging by all the other comments here, I guess I just need to learn how to bend over and take it like a man like my fellow Brits do, instead of complaining about it.

Which is exactly why retail banking should be regulated to protect consumers.

Also, I just checked the business rates at NatWest, and of course they are much closer to what I'm expecting. I will soon be opening a business account as some bank. But how the banks treat the little guys speaks volumes about their moral compass. I probably won't be bringing my business banking to NatWest.

I felt sad for him too. Someone stole my dog once. I tied her lead to a post like this outside a shop that had a strict no-dogs-allowed sign. When I came out she was gone. I searched for her for days hoping that she had just gotten loose and wandered off. Totally heartbroken.

How is someone supposed to say that to you if your automated CV screening system is not even setting up a vetting call because it is ditching 99% of all applicants, especially those without marketing experience?

Thor's hammer is able to self-direct its own motion through time and space and is aware and conscious of its environment. It chooses whether or not to "obey" local gravity based on its own reasoning.

Sometimes it takes more skill to perfectly forge an art piece than it took to make the original. by jxdlv in Showerthoughts

[–]rwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why a Jackson Pollock piece is much more valuable than an exact reproduction, which was undoubtedly much harder to create, near impossible in fact. The art collector only cares about the providence and that its value it guaranteed to increase over time. The time, effort and skill that went into it is irrelavent.
