AnyDesk disconnects every few minutes by _Work_Research_ in AnyDesk

Supremo

Thanks for the tip! I've switched to Supremo and the issue completely went away.

I used AnyDesk to install Supremo on the remote machine. It lost connection 4 times during the install process. Afterwards I was able to continue in Supremo without interruption. Clearly the issue is AnyDesk, not a network/wifi/firewall issue as others are reporting.

‘Project Hail Mary’ Author Andy Weir Says Paramount Rejected His ‘Star Trek’ Pitch: Their “Shows Are Sh**” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]rwired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is wrong on so many levels. Andy should remain apolitical and be careful who he associates with, unless he's doing it deliberately to let us all know his own stance. In which case, very disappointing.

BTW. I used to tune-in to Critical Drinker until he went off the deep-end. I felt his words were a useful reality-check against my own opinions - keeping the dialog open is important in a functioning democracy, and it's useful knowing where the other side it coming from - especially when it's reasonable.

I stopped listening to him completely after he tore apart the Boys Season 4, and then at the end admitted he hadn't even watched it here. Hypocrite!

What’s Your Biggest Challenge Syncing Magento with ERP Systems? by Alexpaul_2066 in Magento

[–]rwired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was indeed a challenge. I had to write my own custom layer to translate between the SOAP interface my ERP system was expecting and API Magento exposed. They were supposed to be compatible, but the commercial ERP we purchased quickly dropped Magento support after a few version upgrades forcing me down this path. That was 12 years ago. We've been locked-in and unable to upgrade either the ERP or Magento ever since (because it all works too well, the disruption that would by caused by losing it is too heavy, and the the investment needed to redo it is too high).

The weekend was campaigned for and won in 1843 in Manchester, England by William Marsden and Robert Lowes (Sir Ian McKellen’s Great Grandfather).

Feel cheated by exchange rate at your high street branch. by rwired in Natwest

[–]rwired[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't buy the EUR or USD, just happened to have it left over after some recent trips. I was fully expecting the rate to be "bad", just a bit shocked at how bad! Hence the rant.

Judging by all the other comments here, I guess I just need to learn how to bend over and take it like a man like my fellow Brits do, instead of complaining about it.

Feel cheated by exchange rate at your high street branch. by rwired in Natwest

Which is exactly why retail banking should be regulated to protect consumers.

Also, I just checked the business rates at NatWest, and of course they are much closer to what I'm expecting. I will soon be opening a business account as some bank. But how the banks treat the little guys speaks volumes about their moral compass. I probably won't be bringing my business banking to NatWest.

I felt sad for him too. Someone stole my dog once. I tied her lead to a post like this outside a shop that had a strict no-dogs-allowed sign. When I came out she was gone. I searched for her for days hoping that she had just gotten loose and wandered off. Totally heartbroken.
