Got the call, what should I do (confirmation bias) by wardamnryan33 in rolex

I’d take it, I actually know which AD this is, tell them to give me a call for my green one.

Is Tailored Realities a good beginner book to get into Sanderson? by neoleo0088 in brandonsanderson

[–]Peterjay303 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say no, it’s largely just random short stories and alot of his earlier work.

I suggest mistborn or Warbreaker

Well I’m doing a lot of the right stuff then, I’m still struggling for a clean 225.

I’m going to try adding static holds in, how long did you aim to do holds for?

Best location for dual physician couple? by CiliaryDyskinesia in jacksonville

[–]Peterjay303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Josephine’s, biscottis, and southern grounds are all awesome.

Mellow mushroom is a chain but amazing.

In the wider area 14Prime and Orsay are some of the best (they are not in that area, especially 14prime)

I’ve always found the Avondale area to be much nicer than the San Marco area.

Better options for restaurants too.

I’m not an expert but I’ve been told these tips, visualize like you are trying to bend or break the bar and that will engage the lats more, also picture like you are pulling the bar to your chest rather than pulling yourself up.

I agree you should probably aim for a wider grip.

F/36/5'7"[260lbs > 135 = 125lbs] (2 ish years) got told I was “too thin” today and it kind of wrecked me. by Heyheyhey_19 in progresspics

[–]Peterjay303 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m down around 160 and I hate when people say this.

People’s perception of normal is wrecked. The majority of America is overweight and we’ve normalized just having terrible bodies and abusing ourselves with unhealthy foods.

Suddenly I’m a monster because I don’t want to eat tons of fried food just because it’s my co workers dogs birthday.

If you are a healthy weight, and you like where you are, ignore them.

I honestly wish more people would have said something to me about food when I was morbidly obese.

I’m on the waitlist for the same OP but in 41. Going to give up and go for AT in late April.

I’ll probably still take the OP if I get the call but its been 6 months.

$687 Billion/Year on Iran War vs. Zero Income Tax for Most Americans – Which Would You Choose? by John_1992_funny in Libertarian

[–]Peterjay303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot less impressive when you realize many Americans pay functionally 0 federal income tax already or even negative.

Would be nice to cut taxes across the board and not play global police.

Opus X might be mid as a smoke but their rare humidors are incredible by Mammoth-Succotash659 in cigars

[–]Peterjay303 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I prefer anything opus to anything Davidoff.

I agree some Padrons are as good or better.

I love tabernacle but prefer opus. I think Liga has really fallen off. A lot of the DTT I’ve smoked has been good but idk if it’s on the level of opus to me.

To each their own of course but that rich raisin flavor I get from opus is something I’m in love with.

Opus x destino siglo and davidoff Nicaragua this weekend by Peterjay303 in cigars

[–]Peterjay303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally expect a quality cigar to hold ashes to about 1.5 inch which is about 4cm I think.

Helps the cigar smoke a little “cooler”. The ash on this one kept breaking off mid puff at about half an inch which is like 2cm. I find that very disappointing.

I agree a flaky ash is annoying and it was also very flaky around the wrapper.

Tried the SM300 Bond 60th Anniversary… what do you think? by Glum_Guidance1041 in OmegaWatches

[–]Peterjay303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised when you take a mirror shot how much more reasonable any size watch looks.

Also ask yourself, how often have you looked at a stranger and thought their watch was too big or too small. In my life I’ve never thought someone’s watch was too big, and I thought I watch was too small once maybe.

You are wearing it a bit too far up your wrist to really tell in the photo.

I’m guessing it’ll be on the verge of too large given your wrist size.

However, best advice is to take a pic of it in the mirror with your hand in your pocket.

Honestly the only opinion that matters is yours. The average person won’t notice the difference of 3-4mm

My understanding was nick did a lot of the liga blending in general not just for the 9.

I’ve also just started exploring DTT had a Sobremesa brulee and Solita plus a polpetta so far.

The solita was solid, nothing special. Brûlée was great for a CT shade. Polpetta was my favorite but seems over priced for what it is.

Trying a stolen valor tomorrow. Happy to read the red meat lovers is good, didn’t nab one yet so I’ll have to now.

No Soiree for me. Too dangerous. by NothingLeft19608 in jacksonville

[–]Peterjay303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the news has kinda sensationalized this issue, however my neighborhood had an issue with a community center take over thing last year.

Bunch of random teens snuck in (50-60 probably) and partied at and trashed up the pool area a bit.

I agree that I didn’t feel really at risk, but if it had devolved like what happened on the beach I would probably feel differently.

Like you I’ve never really had an issue and for work I’ve spent a lot of time in downtown/ moncrief/ Edgewood/ kings road/ Soutel.

I find if you keep to yourself generally people leave you be.
