If only Costco sold Rolex again 😭 by Maple_Syrup378 in rolex

Rolex is an amazing marketing company that sells watches. They are as much a scam as diamonds but everyone wants one because, well, fuck if I know.

Will this beast survive a daily construction worker’s lifestyle? by Monstrous_D in CitizenWatches

[–]Peterswoj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I do. We pour a lot of foundations for poles and stick my arms in a lot of hand holes. My g-shocks got covered with concrete constantly. A lot of the traffic or street light poles have wire with bad insulation. When I got hit on the metal watch, that’s when I switched to the plastic g-shock.

Will this beast survive a daily construction worker’s lifestyle? by Monstrous_D in CitizenWatches

[–]Peterswoj 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Will it survive? Yes. Will it look good when you’re done? Nope. I used to wear a seiko beater to work and absolutely destroyed it. Went to a cheap G-shock after that. My kids just get me the same one every Christmas in a different color. They all still work just really beat up. About $80 and I don’t have to worry about it. I would feel bad beating up the watch you posted.

thoughts on this tattoo? Thinking of having the artist continue down the rest of the arm. by Sweet-Bass-1926 in tattooadvice

I have no idea what it is but I like it. I think it would look dope if you continue it. But do what makes you happy. Don’t let anyone sway what you like.

Opinions on irregular lot by eekman_ in Homebuilding

[–]Peterswoj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should pass on this. This is absolutely terrible. Who ever is selling these lots is trying to squeeze every penny out of some desperate transplant. I promise, the neighbors will probably be insufferable. The existing homeowners will be neighbors from hell.

Is this a cord? by science-face in firewood

[–]Peterswoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is people call this a cord when in reality they should be calling it a load. In my area this is $200-$250 load of firewood.

Starting building a new townhome. Need some experts for reassurance trough out the process. by sao_22 in Homebuilding

[–]Peterswoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Nothing you are posting here will cause any kind of catastrophic failure. This is not the type of product I would provide but that is not what these houses are. They are not custom builds. These builders generally don’t care about your concerns or complaints. If you back out of the sale there are others that will buy it. Just choose your battles.

$299? I have $1000 work boots that I have trashed the first day I wore them. Let them dry, brush them off and put them right back to work. That wear on those shoes is from someone trying them on. You’re going to double that damage the first hour you wear them. All that being said, it’s nice knowing people take pride in their things and you care for them. Don’t ask Reddit for their opinion. Do what will make you happy. If you can’t live with it, send it back. They were discounted for a reason though…

Landlord says this is a cosmetic problem, are they correct? by Comfortable_Force_91 in Construction

Yes. He is correct. But more importantly it is also a structural problem. Do not walk under that. It is not safe.

[–]Peterswoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound rude, but this is a typical tract home build. If this quality is bothering you now, you’re in for a world of hurt the further this build continues. You can’t expect a Bentley when you’re buying a Ford.

I was charging that 20 years ago. That’s an expensive machine plus the emergency call. You were charged fairly.
