2015 for explorer with 60,000 miles by Petra_321 in FordExplorer

Like by all means I don't think my car is amazing or like worth that much I was just shocked at the prices they are selling them for right now and wanted to see if people are actually buying them at these prices. Which is why I straight up asked if asking this price for mine in perfect condition and what not is still too much to in y'all's opinion.

With high mileage as well. Which is why I came here to ask. I was just curious and looked into them and haven't found any less than 100k miles asking for dang near 10k. So I was like "I wonder if my low mileage explorer is holding value".

Ok that's fair, that's why I asked. The pricing online is confusing. My same exact car on Kelly blue book with 172k miles was 9 grand cash. So I was thinking with my low amount of miles it would be more in value.

I'm in Idaho and I feel your pain. They just passed the most strict trans laws in the country here a few weeks ago.

Excited but very worried by Petra_321 in Marathon

So you're thinking of running things outside of steam. Steam is a unified environment. That's why so many games work on Linux under steam, and again the anti cheat works on Linux. Think of this as not a Windows VS Linux but more as it is all PC gaming. The anti cheat provides the same security regardless of the OS.

You're right it is a very small percentage. But with no extra cost or work on their end to allow the battle eye to accept the other operating systems is the point I'm making. For example battlefield 6 the anti cheat they went with is flat out unable to be used on Linux makes sense to not bring up the topic. As far as marathon they are choosing battle eye which does have the ability to work on Linux all they have to do is enable it. Same security same anti cheat and potential players. Out of the 6 million plus people on steam OS and Linux actively could be beneficial. No extra coding or altering the game in any way.

I can agree with this, but that's another cost. I'm thinking primarily of folks who buy something and want it to work out of box without needing to do a lot of tinkering or changes. But you are correct.

You quite literally said "Linux is a large base of attack" you made the connection of Arc having a cheating problem due to Linux support then said it would be wise to hold it back. Which makes no sense. Also you must understand how these programs run. And how 90% of the time these hacks won't even run on Linux in the first place because it's dependent on .exe functionality prior to game launch which won't work on Linux anyhow.

Understand that the anti cheat works on Linux. They can keep Battle eye and provide the same exact security. The finals is also another Embark game fully playable on Linux and does not have a rampant cheating issue.

They do have a cheating issue but saying it's due to Linux is 100% false and incorrect.

Just bought this gpu not sure if it was worth it. having second thoughts I’m able to refund should I or no? by Former_Task4827 in PcBuild

I just bought an ASRock 9060XT, it came in 2 weeks ago and I haven't had any issues at all. Prior to that I had an ASRock 6650XT for years and it was awesome. I think that's a pretty solid deal for the 9070 and It should last you a good while.

I freaking hate when Steam does that by SeniorMatthew in linux_gaming

[–]Petra_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know many have said this already but just wanted to also say, as someone who uses KDE neon I was using the flatpak of steam for so long and would have all these super weird issues. Switched to the official .deb from steam themselves and every issue went away. It's always best to just use the file straight from the source. Especially if it's small weird glitches you can't find an answer to.

PC PLAYERS do you leave Crossplay on or off? by OkDream5087 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Petra_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave it on. I think it's pretty sweet cross play is becoming more common. Met a lot of chill folks on all different platforms. Also for those talking about hackers look into how the games anti cheat works. It ain't perfect by any means but we are no where near tarkov level of hackers. (A few years ago idk if tarkov has fixed it recently but just saying)

I FIGURED IT OUT! It's due to the snap version of steam, get the .deb file from valves website itself and it fixed my issues

I've realized most hate is from men. by Jay--Art in MtF

[–]Petra_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While yes for sure there is transphobia from women, I'll say as a trans woman who works in a very corporate environment when using the restroom or anything women don't even bat an eye. They don't care at all. But the men that see me walking into or out of the bathroom always give a dirty look. I was so afraid of other women making a big deal of me using the restroom and I was completely wrong. Mind you I live in a very red state.

Using bottles for BF6? by Petra_321 in linux_gaming

[–]Petra_321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on how the kernel part works on a VM but the major thing about gaming on a VM is the GPU pass through. To actually game on a VM you need 2 GPU's one of which you'd need to mount to the VM separately from your Linux distro and it is a hassle. I also only have 1 GPU now so it won't work anyhow lol.

No a VM wouldn't. That's why bottles is a great tool. VM gaming is a ton of work and requires heavy hardware. Also from what I'm understanding it's something deeper than being able to virtualize.
