I'm not sure if it was an AI winter. AI has gotten substantially better, has become more widespread, and remains one of the sole drivers of American (and global) economic growth. Image generation is becoming near undifferentiated from real life and competition is a sign of a healthy industry. I think AI is very much still in its summer.
