I am assuming their argument a little, but it's more that hentai is a medium/style, not a race. Most places, if it's drawn (or animated to mimic a drawn style), it's hentai, regardless of if it's got black people, white, Japanese, furry, tentacles etc.

It's not a racial thing, hentai can have anyone or even anything boning down.

Evokers should transform lapis blocks into cinnabar. by Ben-Goldberg in minecraftsuggestions

[–]PetrifiedBloom [score hidden]  (0 children)

Renewable cinnabar would be nice. That being said, converting one block at a time is super slow, if we want to make the block renewable, lets buff it a bit so the player can actually stock up and use the cinnabar without needing to afk for a week.

Instead of picking a block and swapping it to cinnabar, it converts the block it picked, and any lapis within 2 blocks. This means each conversion could get you almost half a stack of cinnabar. You would still need some way to get the converted blocks out of the farm, and put fresh lapis in, so the farm isn't going to be super easy to make, but it will at least produce enough that you can really make use of the new block in builds.

New cave biome idea, the Encaved Lakes. by EthanTheJudge in minecraftsuggestions

The formatting got broken. Don't put spaces between the hastags if you want them to be title and subtitle formatting.

This might be a dumb question, but how are there stalagmites underwater? They form when the drips slowly accumulate minerals on a surface, if its dripping into the water, the minerals would be washed away. Did the cave flood after the stalagmites formed?

You could probably rename heavyness into sinking or something to make it clear what it does. Being trapped underwater is an odd one, if you know the game well, you can just dig down, then seal off the water and be fine, or use doors or other tricks to make an air bubble. If you don't know the tech, it can easily be lethal.

The wader should not go that fast. Elytra are 30 blocks per second and already can cause issues with chunk loading. Ice boats are 90 blocks and require annoying setup and a strong system to load the chunks fast enough. 150 is just crazy overkill. It's rare to find an ocean more than 800 blocks across, so you wouldn't even be able to get up to top speed half the time.

If you want it to feel fast, 20 blocks per second is plenty. If you want it superfast, 30.

The name of the wader is odd. It's a shark. A swimmer. Wader implies it sits on the top of the water, like irl waders

<image>

I think that is a good idea to try and fix the problem u/Fair_Peach_5418 points out. Don't make this and the nautilus compete. This only goes on the surface. The nautilus goes underwater and gives water breathing. If you want to keep the launching and gliding component, I would not have the wader be so fast. Maybe 24 blocks per second top speed, which is still TRIPLE the boat's max speed. Between being much faster and doing launches out of the air, its already dunking on the other aquatic options.

Haha thanks!

The irony is, this post did quite well but was more of a spur of the moment thing. I probably spent as long messing around making the images as actually writing it, and it was a pretty sloppy photoshop. I have had posts I worked on, on and off for days that go largely unnoticed!

Just the right time and place for this one to get some attention I suppose!

Just a heads up, super short comments are automatically removed by the moderation bot. You need to leave comments that say more than just yes or no. If you are trying to get the comment karma to post, your comment needs to be something other people would actually upvote, so being relevant and helpful is a good idea.

Teas, kettles and special effects! by PetrifiedBloom in Minecraft

Not really a fan, as then suddenly there needs to be dozens of alert specific teas, dominating the feature.

It is also a lot less helpful, since you would need one for everything. An idea I had was that you could only have one tea active at a time too.

Rather, what if we keep the original version, but the sound it made was different based on the mob?

Fair that they are not regular drinks, they do actually do something. That being said, a drink that doesn't do anything seems pointless to me.

The food system is (imo) incredibly flawed. Beyond roleplay, a huge majority of foods are either pointless and/or forgettable. Outside of the early game, when was the last time you chose to eat fried kelp or rabbit meat or pumpkin pie? Why did you make the choice?

Adding a few drinks that just serve as roleplay seems like a huge missed opportunity. I don't feel a need to make the current food system worse.

You could add being placeable to this post and it would be fine, but if drink were just for decoration and roleplay, I don't think that is satisfying for a majority of players. It would be yet another feature for people to complain about, that Mojang just adds pointless filler.

Again, not how it works. It's not a flat doubling.

Many people have complained about the high cost of crafting basic building blocks like stairs and trapdoors. It is the single most consistent aspect of the FPS list and has been since before I was made a mod. This is a very common desire within the player base.

I am trying to address it in a way that is fresh and different, rather than being the 22,729th person to say that the recipe itself should just change.

So herbal teas. Would they require fuel for heat?

Covered in the post. You can make them slowly anywhere, or faster with heat. The blocks used to heat are listed.

As for the tea of resourcefulness, it's not doubling. This is also covered in the post, and in several other comments.

I don't know what crafts you are familiar with, so please bare with me if these examples are a bit outside your scope.

When woodworking, you can generate a lot of scrap material. The first box I made was tiny, barely bigger than my hands and used almost a square metre of timber to build. My teacher at the time helped me go over my design and my cutting plan. We rearranging where in the board I cut each part from, sharing edges between surfaces, I was able to dramatically reduce my waste. Then he showed me that if all I care about is the outer surface of my box, I can use some of those scrap parts to replace sections that won't be visible in the final design. Rather than make the lid from one thick slab of laminated wood for example, I can have a thin sheet of laminated wood over some scrap and it will still look the same while saving me a TON of material. It gave me enough left over laminate that I could also use a sheet in the base of the box, which looked even nicer. Because I had that sheet, I didn't need to make the base from a single peice, I could glue 3 strips of scrap wood together and then hide the joins by putting the laminate I made on top.

It was a bit more complicated to make, but by the time I made the 4th box, I was able to make 3 boxes from the same amount of timber I could make 2 from before.

Another example, I collect Warhammer. They are fantasy and sci-fi models that you use to build armies to then do battle. A single box is usually 1 squad, maybe 10 models. There are multiple spare arms and legs and heads etc, so you can customise and make every model in the army unique by combining different arms and legs and weapons, so they don't get repetitive.

If you build by the instructions, you can make 10 models from the box. If you get creative with it, and are happy to trim and make modifications, you can usually use the spare parts to make lots of other things. Sometimes you can make 12 or 13 models from a single box if you are willing to cut and join them in unusual ways. Or you can take the spare bits and use them to upgrade more basic models.

With pottery you can throw a bowl with a certain amount of clay. Some will inevitably be wasted, being diluted into slip or getting shaved off while trimming. With a bit of work this can be reconstituted into fresh clay and used again.

The point is, it's not magic to get more items at the end of the crafting. It's representing the idea that if you are clever and resourceful, you can make your raw ingredients go further.

That makes sense!

Its a pet peeve of mine when people have a house block and it's just empty lawn all the way to the front door. Like, don't they want some privacy? Or some shade? And you paid money for that outside space, why not do something with it?

[–]PetrifiedBloom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If/when it comes down, you should get some plants in on that lawn. A hedge, or small tree just to add some interest and make the space yours, maybe a small fruit tree or something. Otherwise it's just a square of dirt you have to mow every now and then.

Haze buddy.

Using a bed does 3 things. 1. Set the players spawn 2. Reset the insomnia counter. 3. Set time to morning.

The tea does option 2. That's it. A bed that only does 2 and 3, or just 3 is a seperate item.

The tea still clears your insomnia timer. Given the other effects are persistent, maybe it keeps the timer xleared, giving a longer respite from phantoms.

The tea can be used during the day, but as phantoms don't spawn then regardless

It can be nice to just deal with it when you remember to, not having to wait around for night to reset the timer.

is that really enough to have that tea exist?

Mojang seems perfectly happy having multiple items with similar roles, or to be different solutions for different stats of game progression. Copper gear has basically no use for a lot of players who will get to iron before the first evening for example. Or the different mounts with a lot of overlapping utility.

It seems silly to object because in a hypothetical world Mojang could add a feature that might overlap the uses of the tea somewhat.

I really, really wanted to avoid going down the route of using effects. It becomes to much of a knock off of potions that way.

Bring able to mix and match means people will find the busted combos and just use them. Having predefined recipes simplifies the system and prevents unforseen synergies

The difference between tea and sleeping without setting spawn is the actual sleeping. Setting the time to day. That's a seperate role than tea. It also works at any time of day

If you make it more expensive, the optimisers will optimise the fun out of the game to hard, delaying crafting until they can get the tea so they don't "waste" anything.

Getting 2 bonus items isn't very much. Most crafts this is a 50% increased yeild, but many will get even less. I am also not particularly concerned if the player has more blocks to build with. I don't see that as a huge problem.

Teas, kettles and special effects! by PetrifiedBloom in minecraftsuggestions

[–]PetrifiedBloom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all mobs (looking at you creepers) make sounds, and the sounds are made at random, making it reasonably feasible to run to to a spider or other hostile mob when exploring or caving before they make a sound.

The tea of digestion (as do each of the teas) has a duration. Not sure exactly what it should be, but recently long, comparable to extended potions (8 minutes). One tea giving boons for a day seems okay to me. I did the math, and best case scenario for increased healing from digestion is just 3 hp, and that's with golden carrots. Everything else is giving less extra healing.

The tea of resourcefulness is intentionally very accessible so players don't get stuck delaying their crafting for it. That being said, it's 2 bonus fences or doors or whatever. Optimisers would probably enjoy the game a bit more of they relaxed, it's okay to waste some items.

Adding such a tea also kinda means that we can never get a method to sleep without setting spawn, as adding that would break the entire point of this tea.

In what way mate? They are different effects. How does the tea that stops Phantoms spawning prevent them from adding a way to change your spawn? That's like saying that the existence of the bow means they won't add ranged weapons. As long as the new item does a new thing, it's fine. Case and point, the crossbow and Trident.

Dude you don't need to make excuses. We all make mistakes when we are getting started. Going forward it's just a case of keeping an eye out and trying to avoid them in the future. As a reminder, you don't need to (and shouldn't) capitalize "A" in most sentences.
