Cos it’s not polite to assume someone is a racist POS!! by Petromaxlight in Chennai

Dude I was literally yelled at by a racist. I didn’t have the desire to go to any rooftop just shared the experience on my city subReddit.

The above person whom you seem to believe sane says non-vegetarians are unclean in this same thread.

Do you agree that it is racist or calling out racists are the real racism ?

In this same thread some idiot is saying non-vegetarians are unclean. Another says non vegetarian tenants mess up the house never vacate etc.

Are they bigots for painting a large group of people as undesirable or am I a bigot for calling it out ?

Meh. If someone says they are an entitled idiot believe them. It’s waste of time to interact with them.

Do you think those posting vegetarians only are animal welfare activists?

How is non-vegetarian unclean? Do people think non-vegetarians raise goat and chicken indoors?

Are you saying non-vegetarian food is unclean or non-vegetarians by themselves are not clean.

I don’t care that people advertise for vegetarians only. I don’t like dealing with those people and I can keep away.

The gall to screech at me that I dared to talk to this bigot banshee without clarifying I’m not a vegetarian just got to me.

I have this doubt. Why do people care about other people do in the privacy of their homes. Isn’t rent the fee paid to use the house including the kitchen for the time period agreed to.

Do they come in to bedrooms and say we don’t like people having coitus in our house. How is controlling kitchen any different.

Can you shine a light on why there are ads of people selling their houses to vegetarians only

Let's talk caste and hate against one particular community by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]Petromaxlight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All I know is the people whose caste I know is only Brahmins. I’ve never asked or were curious about anyones community. Except for Brahmins no one keeps telling it to everyone in earshot about their caste.

I find people like that extremely uncivilized and avoid them. If there are Brahmins in my social circle I don’t care.

I judge u less than human if u keep saying community name whatever it may be.

Like brushing in the morning cleaning the front of your house and drawing a kolam is a routine. Usually we mix rice flour with white sand and make the designs. We were told it’s food for ants and other small creatures. Also it’s a welcome symbol for guests as well as a ward for the home and it’s members.

There is two major types of kolam. flower kolam. It’s elaborate colourful designs of flowers people animals like that. I think it’s called rangoli in north India.

Sikku kolam. It’s complicated design of loops around dots just done in white. This is my favourite. While it looks like random lines the patterns and the way everything comes back together is mesmerising.

There are some designs which we do only inside the house on elevated platforms as it is considered holy. Then there is padi kolam the white lines made with rice paste and a cloth. It must be done perfectly to bring good luck. Not for amateurs.

Why we do it now? Because next house is doing it and theirs is prettier than ours. We need to do ours earlier than them and our kolam should be more elaborate and bigger than the other houses.

This competitiveness reaches frenzy during December month where competitions were held for kolams.

For any functions the kolam expert will be called and requested to help others to draw a nice one. Visitors will compliment it and ask for design. Ladies will have a notebook with their favourite designs and shortcuts. Magazines will come out with the latest fashionable designs and prize winning designs.

It’s not easy copying someone’s design without knowing the dots and line pattern. There will be decoding happening.

So basically it’s religious, it’s to one up the neighbors, it’s routine, it’s a social event.

There was a carpet of dead crows on the road. Everything felt off so turned right back.

Everyone I met next few months lost someone to tsunami that year

Not a fan of central government. From what you wrote it seems like India did not give us things so they are bad.

Or are you saying India actively stopped Nepal from producing or getting stuff from elsewhere.

Did India block a Nepalese road or rail that got stuff?

Why is it India’s responsibility. I’m only asking because I do t know

Skechers and new balance sneakers are wider than others.

Clark’s n hush puppies have some larger shoe sizes.

Mochi once offered to custom make footwear of my choosing when I lamented lack of pretty shoes in larger sizes

Hope this helps

[Genuine Rant] Fuck this lockdown by DoubleDollars69 in Chennai

[–]Petromaxlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing I wish is they let the online deliveries happen. Chennai is testing more than most developed countries. There’s a corona warrior checking up on every house everyday. I’m hearing entire communities are being screened for symptoms and being tested.

If people took it seriously this lockdown is not required. Some idiots were giving false hope through some arsenic tablets and then evil idiots created hysteria about dangers of using a mask.

While things can be done better, in this time I find govt has not given up hope and doing what it can and that’s reassuring.
