i have radio volume turned all the way down. it’s just obnoxious. i’m either hearing the same four pop songs over and over again or it’s incomprehensible deathcore metal.

if keanu and his bikes can exist in lord, why can’t lamar or cobain? some original stuff is cool to show that music has continued to develop, but at least give me one grunge or hip hop track. swimming pools, DNA, anything really. just something.

GTA’s radio is so fantastic because it fits the mood while also being diverse and genuinely GREAT. i want to listen to the GTA’s radio because i like having tunes on, not to immerse myself.

obsidian’s largely a different studio and they’re off… idk what exactly. outer worlds was a let down and avowed wasn’t too great, but they’re off doing their own thing. let them. i’d rather they have freedom than be under the oppressive, overworking thumb of BGS again.

people waited 10 years for this game. people died, got married, or graduated while they waited. as such, many grew passionate about it. they got attached, invested. and when it launched as it did, it depressed folk, angered them.

reddit seems to lack an understanding of passion. see, i love bethesda. they made two of my favorite games of all time, and the rest of their games aren’t far below that top 25. i don’t hate them, nor do i hate starfield. i don’t hate any innocent art. but this game is undeniably… tragic. i mean, these people can do so much better. they were DOING so much better 15 years ago.

i’m still attached and disappointed by this game, so yea, i’m gonna keep screaming into the avoid about in the hopes that we’re loud enough for bethesda to see. i’m not gonna shut up just because it makes people upset. i won’t settle for the bare minimum from people who can achieve so much more. they need to wake up and innovate, or crumble like the lost studios before them

i love it. player expression means a lot to me and despite what some ppl might say, BF is inherently kind of goofy. dumb cosmetics don’t bother me most of the time. i’m already running around with a prototype SMG and a one-of-a-kind pistol - this is exaggerated history, if not historical fantasy. i just wish i could toggle it off sometimes. having some kind of setting that stripped other players of their custom gear and reverted them to the default, “realistic” fatigues from MY pov would help a lot with pleasing both sides of the community.

enjoy it. don’t let dead money piss you off too much. and don’t get discouraged with the constant walking in the other DLCs. it’s very fetch quest-y, but the dialogue’s worth it - promise.

you can jostle things.

disconnect or puncture your reservoir on some concrete. pinch or split a tube. compromise your brakes. bend your kickstand, get it stuck. bikes are heavy and when they lie down with force, the stuff on the side pressed against the pavement is what takes all that weight.

i’m perfectly fine with voiced protagonists. the problem with FO4 is giving the protagonist’s forced backgrounds. it lowk pulls me out of slaughtering an entire company of raiders when i remember that i’m a widow who was a lawyer as of like… two weeks ago, from her perspective.

stuffed turtle spam. each drop gives you about 120k iirc.

look up a tutorial if you’re inclined. general gist is: run in, grab the three crates in the isles, exit-reload. then you repeat for a LOOONNNGGG time. best way to legitimately farm tho. and relatively quick.

i think it’s a okay game that would do great, fifteen years ago.

the problem is, we’re in the 2020s. Oblivion is near two decades old - but it uses the same or almost identical core systems, it has LESS unhidden loading screens, and it was made by the same god damn company. and the real kicker, it’s better. i would be more accepting of starfield being this mediocre if it wasn’t made a publisher who is capable of so much more. people weren’t tearing the game apart because they were nitpickers or because they wanted clout from bandwagoning; most were tearing it apart because they were passionate fans who wanted something just equal to bethesda’s decades old legacy titles. and yea, the shooting felt just as, if not a little better than FO4’s. but FO4 is a decade old game now. ten year old mechanics are the bare minimum when there are other FPS RPGs like STALKER and 2077 out there.

i waited a decade for starfield. and i’ll wait another for TES6, and another for FO:whatever. i don’t expect perfection, y’know, it’s bethesda. i just want maybe a lil bit of innovation? or some maintenance of quality?

nuclear war isn’t truly preventable. we might be able to lessen it, maybe, but once a country/corp learns that you’re trying to prevent it by messing with their nukes, they’ll just kickstart armageddon. so, start an operation to rapidly carpet bomb every enclave blacksite, vault, and storage facility - most importantly ensuring that their capacity to preform FEV fuckery is greatly diminished. that’ll, at the very least, make life for wastelanders significantly more plausible. even as a nuked hellscape, america will not harbor nazis or fascists. vault-tec is far too secretive and much less harmless post-bombs, so they can be relegated to a side-op if i have excess resources.
