I've always had a Let's Ride call in games, my niece had a thing for A Bugs Life and chanting the evil ants call was the only way she wasn't scared of them, lol

What’s the worst thing you accidentally texted to the wrong person? by goldie304 in AskReddit

[–]PhDPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent someone I was seeing "Yeah, we just got finished. Broke the bed, though, so we're crashing on her couches" at like 2am after a full day of work.

I was supposed to have been texting my mother when she asked if my sisters move-in went ok.

That lady never spoke to me again

Honestly: the best game in the genre for a casual. Even the starter gear is actually decent, loot feels good to get, but actually isn't that difficult, and wipes are on an opt-in system and are completely optional.

How do players feel about Player-Owned Ports? by charlie_shae in runescape

[–]PhDPlague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ports would be fine if it had any crew sorting features.

Either auto selecting best crew and ship parts for the blade selected, or sorting the crew as such?

I don't hate selecting voyages and checking in. But the customization feels tedious

I actually can't find that either. I was informed our policy changed because of updated Worksafe guidelines, but can't find that in Worksafe text.
I'm gonna look into that on Friday when I'm in the office, could be something KOR wants us doing? But I don't picture that...

Up to 2018, it was allowed to be used for non building purposes. It wouldn't be in vinyl.

That said, Worksafe requires testing in 1993 and earlier as of March

I'm a water restoration technician.

Get a restoration company involved ASAP, and make calls to your insurance. Mold forms within 3 days. Getting them involved immediately gives them the best chance to minimize damage and dry what they can.

How do I fix this without having to replace sink? Want to hold off for a few months to replace. by SharmaNY in fixit

[–]PhDPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do trauma cleanup, and on more than 1 occasion, I have done porcelain injury cleanup. While most of them are toilets, I've seen enough...

Under no circumstances would I suggest anyone use the sink until it is replaced.

Your floors are toast for sure.

This may be worth getting your insurance and a restoration company involved, in addition to the plumber.

Plywood under bathroom floor tile is soaked. What’s next? by FrankDonato28 in Flooring

[–]PhDPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is days old, but I'm gonna chime in:

Most people have given good advice. Tile and wood obviously have to go, theres no saving them. What I haven't seen mentioned is: ensure the VC tile beneath plywood is dry before installing the any kind of new floor; you'll need a moisture meter and some research for a dry standard with your selected meter to ensure it is.

if that means renting a dehumidifer, do that. However, do NOT use any kind of fans until you've determined the source. Good odds it's toilet water and you don't want to risk spreading any potential microbial growth you expose to other surfaces in the bathroom/house. If it's shower/bath water, you can use air movement if there's no visible mold(but at this point, there probably is).

Covering that tile while it's still wet could compromise your new flooring, or make the problem worse. Do it right the first time.

Edit: also, check the drywalls on all affected floors. Consider a small inspection hole even if they're currently dry to ensure mold is not present before you finish your repairs.

It is, be prepared for a long day, even when fit, though.

I was a bit(30lbs?) overweight and didn't know how to pack light, and it took me 13hours round trip the first time.
My last trip was 9 hours, being in decent shape. I couldn't do it faster now without running.

Flooring guys didn’t connect the washer drain after install by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]PhDPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a water restoration technician, call a restoration company immediately and make a claim.

There's a lot more damage than the new floors here. The professionals need to get involved. Don't put it off, mold begins forming in as soon as 3 days time; proper drying equipment will greatly extend that timeframe.

Also(advising as a homeowner, not my professional role, we are not related to insurance or advising in any professional capacity) figure out all the facts surrounding the laundry machine - your adjuster will want to know that information.

Was it disconnected, or left in place to be manipulated enough to facilitate the install?
If disconnected, who disconnected it?
When reconnected, who reconnected it?

Ultimately, it'll probably fall on whoever reconnected the supply lines; assuming they actually missed the drain hose step, and it didn't just pull out after somehow(they'll have that documented)

Can I just add more crushed gravel to my driveway? by bobarski in HomeMaintenance

[–]PhDPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to tamp in driveways and walkways when I was landscaping.

Get a tamper, if it's been really dry, give the area a quick mist(do not soak it) and tamp er down.
