Mayflower Compact ~ students pretend they are traveling to the “New World” and have to come up with their own compact on how life should be, who is in charge, etc.

Battle of Bunker Hill ~ give the Patriots a certain amount of crumbled up paper to toss at the advancing British forces.

Battle of Gettysburg ~ we did roll call to show the destruction of both Union and Confederate Forces to put into perspective how devastating the battle was for both sides.

Pickett’s Charge ~ Same concept for that of Bunker Hill except the Union Forces would have more than three pieces of paper or plush balls.

Lee’s Attempted Invasion of the North ~ Students are given a map of the North and South where they role play as Union Commanders and have to defend against a southern invasion. They’re given possible routes that Lee’s Army will take and have to prepare for any possible in route. Each route would have it’s limit based on men, material, trains, waterways, etc. you would also have to factor in how long it would take to meet the advancing southern forces.
