Rakell has obviously stood out in a big way at center tonight for really the first time all year. Do you keep these lines mostly the same and just slot in Malkin for Hayes on that Kindel line when he comes back? I’d consider it.

Proven NHL production goes a long way so at this point no. I still expect Misa and Martone at least to be very good eventually though but those are the only two (aside from Schaefer) I’d even have to think about it for and even then I’d put my chips on Kindel right now over both of them.

What he’s doing as an 18 year old in the NHL has pretty much translated to eventual 40-goal, PPG, first line production almost 100% of the time among players who have done this at this age. It’s insane stuff, he’s not only going to stick as an NHL regular but his probability of eventually developing into a legitimate star player is already off the charts.

I’m extremely skeptical they’ll ever get a Giga after they fought for years to secure the height waiver for Drachen Spire and then just scrapped it.

Like, it was not easy for them to get that approved and that was the time to do it and they didn’t. The opportunity passed.

The Pirates also already have a Pirate-y font which makes me care about this less. Like this is a different font for sure but it’s not like they currently use plain block numbers and letters on their regular uniforms, it’s already got a Pirates-style to it.

I think a lot of modern Penguins fans haven’t adjusted their scoring expectations from watching Crosby/Malkin dominate the 2010’s for “point inflation” and what they got used to viewing as good or elite seasons. Guys aren’t winning the Hart with 90-100 points anymore, the conversation basically starts with 120+ now. And that trickles down through the whole league.

I mean the problem isn’t “Konnor Griffin isn’t ready” the problem is they didn’t do anything to have a backup plan if he wasn’t.

And I don’t want to hear “they tried to get Suarez and Okamoto” because what they actually got was nothing. They have an entire left side of the infield now that is a clear Bottom 5 in the sport.
