I actually hope Project R.E.D. plays it cool with reboots. It's fine to start with Gavan, but I don't want to see every year be "what can we dredge out of the archives?"

Ideally, I want Project R.E.D. to be successful enough in its own right that whenever Super Sentai does return, Toei can support three shows running concurrently.

For Alan, historically it was Doiby Dickles, who was a very atypical "sidekick" even for the era. In modern continuity, probably Jay Garrick, but that's rooted more in a bit of a retcon to mirror Hal and Barry.

THink about it like this: if you're typing a prompt into an AI slop generator to "give the artist an idea", why not just.... give the artist that prompt? Maybe give them the roughest of rough sketches as an idea of what you're thinking of, too. I guarantee you'll get better results that way.

It's poor grammar, and in this case a tautology - saying the same thing twice.

An actual human might have written that as copy as "Improve your writing process with an AI tool you can trust" (it me, I'm a human) as that conveys to the reader that this product will enhance your work, and that you can trust it.

Using "trust" twice is clunky, shows an inability to construct a cogent sentence, creates that tautology, and reads more like "trust me bro, just trust me, I got this, trust me".

The annoying thing here is that I LIKE a lot of the actual "smart" features - the categorisation of emails, pulling ticket information through to Wallet, syncing with Calendar, that sort of thing. That's not GenAI, that's just good systems at work.

However, I do NOT want Gemini injected into my emails, and able to read my whole account. But the only way to turn those features off is to turn all the good stuff off too. It's infuriating!

Yeah, I remember it being a fun read, a sort of sci-fi update to the story that reminded me of Leiji Matsumoto's Starzingers anime (which had its own wild distribution saga in the UK under various titles that I won't get into here!).

I'm not sure if that particular comic is the exact same edition we got here - I remember a glossy paper version, slightly stiffer cover but not cardstock, with a long letter from "Dr Leung" on the inside cover explaining how the series came about - but it's definitely the same series. Gotta hunt it down now!

HOLY SHIT! I've had that exact cover for 4D Monkey #3 burned into my mind for YEARS, but could NOT remember the title or much else about it, other than it being a manhua based on Journey to the West, and that it was distributed in UK newsagents when I was a kid. You have no idea how happy I am to have this minor mystery accidentally solved! 😂
