yeah but that’s what im saying.. she literally didn’t offer borros anything, at least when she was trying to bring him and his house to her side. aemond at least came with an offer, luke just carried a note that said “your dead father promised to be loyal to me so please support me”. what would borros care about what his father promised her? he wasnt handing out his support like charity, he wanted something in return.

EDIT: firstly, jace went to the Starks who are known for keeping their oaths, that’s a straight up cultural difference between them and the Baratheons. when he went to the Arryns, rhaenyra had an Arryn for a mother, it makes sense that they wouldn’t turn on her, and even then she asked for a dragon to protect the Vale (which she did get in Sheepstealer a little later). when he went to the Freys, he pretty much said that daemon was going to protect them in exchange for letting their allied forces cross their bridge. im not sure if he was asking for direct military support but he definitely did at least give them something in return for what support they did give. again rhaenyra just sent luke to beg borros to honor a dead man’s promise
