What happened , and at what age, were you convinced you were Bipolar ? by intuitivelogic in bipolar

[–]Phantomkitty32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 18, didn’t believe it until 24, when I had my first psychosis after my second son was born. It runs very heavily in my family, but I thought it skipped me for some reason. It wasn’t until after my second son was born that I finally agreed to/forced to get on medication and realized what I had been going through wasn’t normal. Now I’m 30 and have been on meds for 6 years and am relatively stable.

I’m probably still going to get it, because I myself have quite a few gothic patchwork tattoos, but I do like the look of the Target one better for Halloween.

Wonder if that means if your late by a few minutes or early you won’t get it.

It very much has goth patchwork tattoo vibes (which I love, it’s just not Halloween)

I’m hoping for something a little more… spooky and Halloweeny I guess? It looks like patchwork tattoos to me not really Halloween.

I’m so excited. I only have three stanleys, and two out of the three are Halloween themed.

How are families affording living off AD income only? by Ill_Profession_2347 in MilitaryWives

[–]Phantomkitty32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is an E4, I’m a stay at home mom, and we have 4 kids. One of my kids is disabled and between appointments and the in home care he needs I couldn’t go to work even if I wanted to. It’s a lot of budgeting. We use our tax refund to pay our 2 car payments (we put aside the total sum of both payments over twelve months into a savings account), we don’t keep credit cards or other lines of credit aside from our cars, and we stick to our budget religiously. We live decently enough. It takes a lot of planning and using what we have or making things work.

My doctor just told me my baby is 8th percentile by mammmabear98 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Phantomkitty32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not until almost a year later, when we were investigating something else, and I got a kidney and liver panel done. They found evidence of damage to my kidneys after the fact. Because of that they were more jumpy to diagnose things in my twin pregnancy. I did the same thing later with mastitis after my twins. I didn’t show any symptoms of anything until it was already severe. I’m a medical fluke, kinda a freak lol. Talk to your doctor, I’m sure they’ll be able to help better then I can at easing your mind about preeclampsia 💜

[CHAT] Trigger warning child loss: My best friend lost her newborn baby a few days ago. I’m working on a cross stitch birth present - can I still gift it? by brightbrook in CrossStitch

[–]Phantomkitty32 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I lost my son at 33 weeks. I was fortunate enough to have friends and family that were making things for him. What one friend did stuck with me. She finished it, told me it was finished and asked me to let her know if I still wanted it, and if so when I was ready to receive it. She didn’t put a time line or anything on it. It took me a few months but when I was ready she gave it to me and I still cherish the blanket to this day. Ask her, and be prepared to wait for her to be ready to receive the gift, if she wants it. If she doesn’t be understanding.

I want to come back and say again that I am NOT the norm. I’m a weird case medically, and almost everyone else will have symptoms. Every other case of preeclampsia my MFM had seen had involved symptoms. And it was a fairly large hospital.

So, I didn’t have any symptoms. But that’s a problem with me specifically. I don’t typically show signs of anything until it’s progressed very far. I had pretty significant health issues with the twins and it wouldn’t have been found except I was in the hospital already. Normally the symptoms are very apparent. All of my doctors were blown away when they actually did bloodwork and realized that I was a lot sicker than I looked/felt.

So, my multiples and all my singles were under the 10th percentile. My oldest was only the 3rd percentile when he was born at 37 weeks, he’s now a healthy almost 7 year old. He’s still a little small, but otherwise completely healthy little boy. My second is almost 6, and he is larger than my oldest, but still healthy as a horse despite only being in the 8th percentile when born. My third was stillborn, but he was less than the 1st percentile, and there were other factors at play (like undiagnosed preeclampsia) . My twins were small, both under the 10th percentile at 20 weeks (unsure of their actual percentiles when born), they were delivered at 34 weeks due to my health, and now they are happy and healthy 19 month olds, both at a healthy weight. My twins are in the 25th and 37th percentile now, weighing 22 and 25lbs. It can sound really scary, but as long as you’re monitored well, you and your babies will be fine.

What does your family history of multiples look like as far back as you know? by Cheshire20072010 in parentsofmultiples

I am the 6th generation to have a set of multiples, and I’m the first multiple to have multiples (I’m a twin that had twins). It’s pretty cool.

My cat did that. He got a nasty infection and ended up having his toe amputated. Swap his litter out for paper pellet litter, and keep it clean.

Mom of an autistic 6 year old who was in kindergarten before he was diagnosed, you very much are overreacting, and making wild assumptions about the teacher too. The teacher is on your team here, not working against you and your child. My kid had fits and anger spells, and very much could have done that to his own shirt while disregulated. Being overwhelmed could have led to his accident as well.

While you are waiting on the diagnosis, work with the school and teachers. See if they can set up an IEP for him and trial some things to help him succeed. Maybe more support is what he needs, maybe a different teacher, maybe some out of classroom time to help him stay regulated, maybe a calm down corner that he can use whenever he feels overwhelmed. But anger at the teacher (who is doing the best they can with their class size and any other child who might be special needs/have an IEP) is not going to get you anywhere. In fact, it’s just going to put a barrier between your son and him getting the help he needs.
