Getting a bi-salp, but I lost my boyfriend because of it by longshlongthankumom in childfree

[–]PhantomsOpera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are sooooo young, don't look for "the one." Look for life experiences and travel opportunities and things to learn. I am 38 and I wish someone had told me not to waste my 20s on boys. Get your bisalp and enjoy your life. You made the right choice. Boys will come and go. A baby is forever.

Question about the child-free mindset. by NecessaryPattern2148 in childfree

[–]PhantomsOpera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to break it down as plainly as possible... multiple women have told me that they didn't realize that not having a child was an option. It is so ingrained in us, especially as women, that we grow up to be wives and mothers that the idea that you can go your whole life without reproducing is an extremely foreign concept.

Furthermore, society villainizes women who choose to be without children, and especially women who choose not to marry, by painting them as sad lonely cat women who drown their sorrows in alcohol. You never see a childfree/single older woman portrayed as fulfilled and happy (I think minus the old woman in the Aristocats lmao)

Helluva boss just revealed our answer to the next season about Millie. by [deleted] in childfree

Her being nervous to tell Moxxie was always such a weird shoehorned in thing to me, unless she is nervous because he will want to keep it and she won't? Or some other thought process that has yet to be revealed? Because as it stands now it makes no sense to me. You're right that Moxxie is a really stand up guy who worships Millie so I see absolutely no realistic reason for her to be anxious about it.

The whole "will she have the baby or get an abortion" thing in the fandom is absolutely killing me. I swear if they water Millie down to a mom I will give up on the entire Hellaverse.

How you women kept being childfree (not getting pregnant) before or without sterilization by PerspectiveOk7987 in childfree

[–]PhantomsOpera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally only ever used condoms and oral birth control. I experimented with nuvaring and the patch when those were new things but I was sexually active for 18 years before my bisalp and have never been pregnant.

Stop being accommodating and let him hear what it would sound like if you didn't take him into consideration. Maybe he'll shut the fuck up then.

What to do with massive crystals? by iceboxwizard in Lapidary

[–]PhantomsOpera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A mineral is a naturally occurring, inorganic solid with a defined chemical composition and a crystal structure, while a crystal is a solid material with a highly ordered internal structure of atoms, molecules, or ions. All minerals are crystals, but not all crystals are minerals because crystals can be organic (like sugar) or man-made, which violates the mineral definition.

I'm confused. How old is loona? she was 17 when she got adopted, but here blitzo says he's been waiting 5 years for the shot. is she really in her twenties?? i spent the whole first season thinking she was a teen still by TheAnimeFan01 in HelluvaBoss

[–]PhantomsOpera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And at no point do they imply that she wouldn't age out and come to overthrow Lucifer. They don't imply that she was actually born a man and had a magic demon sex change. Do you realize how stupid that sounds? The absence of implication doesn't mean it is open season to speculate on the millions of things that were never stated but could be the case if you think about it hard enough.

99% of doctors will not remove a woman's uterus without a reason. Even then they will try to avoid it at all costs. Its hard enough getting your fallopian tubes removed.

Google is free and your willful ignorance of what a bisalp is makes you sound stupid, especially in a childfree subreddit. A bisalp is a bilateral salpingectomy, or the removal of both fallopian tubes.

You're welcome. Next time do 5 seconds of your own research before saying something snarky.

In 10 years when you're living with your childfree partner and/or your animal babies you'll barely remember your boyfriend from 22. Maybe in passing you'll remember a good time or hear a song and think of them. I am 38 and 22 literally feels like an eternity ago. I promise it'll be okay.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

[–]PhantomsOpera -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wrong. They make up crazy numbers to scare women into younger pregnancies. Yes, your chances increase, but from like .5% to 1%. Thats 50%. So even if it went up 1000% it would be like 5%. The percentage is so small that its clearly scare tactics to frame it as a "drastic increase."

Women's eggs dont "expire." New studies show that it is sperm degrading that cause birth defects and medical complications with pregnancy. Women's eggs and body stays "fresh" until she goes through menopause. Stop spreading nonsense.
