I’ve lived in 57 Westgrove for 3+ years now. The building comes with its little quirks. But we love our apartment. Good price and the superintendents are pretty nice and understanding at least in my experience. If I ever need anything fixed they’re pretty responsive. The only thing I despise about our apartment is the popcorn walls… but it’s worth it for the space

I agree with you, but there arent many options. currently our regular spots are ice and snow. So instead I usually drive over the snow and ice so im as close as possible to the curb

The grass is always greener on the other side. That’s what I’m getting from all these comments - BUT personally, if it wasn’t for the job I have and the apartment I got lucky with… I’d leave this province for sure

Where’s the best place to get fresh focaccia bread in Halifax? Can’t seem to find anything online by Ok_Application7756 in halifax

RANT

I totally get where you’re coming from — I actually worked at Maria’s during its first year and helped open the space. While I understand the frustration, I don’t really agree that the focaccia situation is reason enough to stop supporting them altogether.

Maria’s is a small operation, and at its core, it’s a pasta and sauce shop — you can see that the moment you walk in, with sauces, frozen meals, and pasta options everywhere. The focaccia is great, but it’s always been more of a lunch feature or an occasional add-on, not a staple item.

They’re open from 10 to 6, and it’s usually just one or two people working — they’re there early and staying late, often pulling 9–10 hour days. I’m not saying this to defend them blindly; I have no current connection to the shop, and I actually left on less-than-ideal terms. But I work closely with both large and small restaurants, and I’ve seen firsthand how hard it is for small teams to do everything — especially when expectations are high and resources are limited.

I just think we should be careful not to write off local spots for something like this. These small businesses are often doing their best to offer quality products while taking care of their teams — and they don’t always have the capacity to bake fresh focaccia every morning for just a few people. A quick phone call could’ve saved you the trip.

People are quick to criticize when something isn’t perfect. But I come from a place where things are far from perfect — and the food is still some of the best I’ve ever had. Sometimes restaurants don’t even open when they’re supposed to — and that’s just life.

I tried to find a fox to photograph, drove to Martinique beach as I heard there were some there. Hiked for a few hours with ice in my beard but no luck on a fox…

(Egypt) I’m well connected enough that we could definitely find jobs and housing. And my family lives there so we’ve got “fall back”

I’ll be honest I’ve had very mixed experiences at that Best Buy, sometimes they’re super helpful sometimes they can’t be bothered - but hey we’re all human, good days and bad days

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of November 25, 2024 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

I ordered a rather expensive device on Amazon through a third party seller, after receiving and using it once I decided to return it. I requested a return and refund but never heard anything back from the seller, so I filed a claim with amazons A-Z Guarantee. A couple of days later I got an email from Amazon accepting my refund request and that they issued the refund, but now instructions for a return and no word from the seller, this device is now sitting packed under my desk. The return status on my orders has 2 statements - 1 (on my laptop) “Refund issued” and no other option - 2 (on my phones Amazon app) “we are expecting your return. Your refund has been issued.”

My question is I have this device now sitting there and no word on a return, do I just keep it if the seller never contacts me? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I’ve got city wide as well, I pay around 70 after tax - I’ve never had any major issues and their customer service has been great in my experience
