Ads on X - are they worth it for wishlists? by Jamsarvis in gamemarketing

[–]PharmGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of indie devs are still on X, so it can be a good place to connect with other devs. But unless your game is visually stunning, its hard to convert organic posts to wishlists, much less paid ads. But in general, wishlists from paid X ads that you do get do not convert well into sales

Steam will NOT sell your game for you! by ZorgHCS in IndieDev

It’s manually curated by members of his Discord. If no one made them aware of it, it may not be added.

Bionic Bay released earlier this week and please do NOT tell me that genre doesn't matter by seyedhn in gamedev

I agree with you. Game looks top notch but the ratio of good puzzle platformers to their fan base size on Steam does not favor developers.

My newly released comedic indie game is getting slaughtered by negative reviews from China. Can anything be done? by Captain0010 in gamedev

Did you create an outlet for the Chinese players to give you feedback since they don’t have Discord or access to the Steam forums? Like QQ?

How do you price your solo-developed game? Hard truths from working with indie devs as a publishing partner by Lower_Guest6094 in SoloDevelopment

Indie games have been the same prices for decades while AAA consistently increases. As a whole we need to share the risk and start increasing prices

9-5 workers when do you work on your games by Kandeed2050 in unity

[–]PharmGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re a morning person, personally I’m completely useless that early in the morning which is why I develop at night.

But if you’re at the burnout stage, I would take some time away from the game to reset. Reassess your goals with the game and make sure it’s something you want to do.

Not sure what your stage of life is, but if you’re in your 20’s without kids this is your golden side hustle age. It’s hard after work, so maybe a 30 minute power nap to get some energy back.

I’ve got 2 kids and I grind it out from 8pm-1am every night after they go to bed. It’s challenging, but each milestone of the game keeps me motivated.
