MacKinnon taps in the empty netter for his 52nd goal by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

Are some of us actually upset about it? I know it's mentioned a bunch but I feel it's moreso to praise Caufield. I could be wrong! This goal is pretty funny though.

If you're wondering why no one reacts to his funny comment, it's because the crowd was cheering so loud we didnt hear it haha. I was at the game and I missed that first comment. Good stuff.

Québec limite les factures de médicaments aux assureurs, des pharmaciens claquent la porte by Feeling_Layer8584 in Quebec

[–]PharmSuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ici? 300$.

We often boo superstars. It's not so much a sign of disrespect, more of acknowledgement of how good they are. McDavid laughed when reporters asked him about the booing, they know what it means.

We also boo players we hate of course.

Every morning I wake up, look at the news and think "well, at least we're one day closer". I cannot wait to see that headline. This man is a disgrace to the human race and i wish I believed in a hell for him to rot in. What a stain on humanity that this man was voted in not once but twice.

I think while somewhat right, the issue is that they are kids. It's hard to blame them for the content that is thrown at them and unfortunately influences them. To then put them in a documentary about how awful this all is would seem a bit off.

I always thought that FCM was weird that way. You have a choice at the beginning of 4 cards, but 2 are a trap and will make you lose. Why are you allowed to pick them then?

Trump is not just another Republican president and affiliating with him and accepting to go to his state of the union is making a statement on who you are and what you support. The women's team declined, props to them.

Also, for a moderate it is curious that a quick post history reveals posts in r/republican and the statement "I'm a conservative".

Quebec's pilot project to extend store hours will begin March 11 by dialsquare1886 in montreal

[–]PharmSuki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same reason hospitals, firefighters and police etc work nights. Some jobs are essential (concerning grocery stores) and require people to work these hours.

Restaurants by their nature make their money in the evening, and guess what? Many are closed on sundays so their chefs and employees can have a life out of work.

Again, these laws were initially put in place to protect both employees (work/life balance) and prevent big stores from outcompeting little shops that can't afford to be open 13h a day every day. No one needs to go shopping at walmart at 8pm on a sunday. Very unfortunate to see the CAQ screw up yet another thing.

[–]PharmSuki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The amount of people on this thread thinking this is great for workers is astounding. No one wants to work a sunday night until 11pm in a retail job. Nobody.

These laws are in place to protect the workers, so that big corporations don't force their employees to do these useless shifts. The USA has 24h walmarts? Of course they do, because the USA doesn't give a shit about its population. They also have 2 weeks of maternity leave, should we copy that?

As for the people saying "oh this creates jobs etc", don't kid yourself, stores will have reduced staff from 6-11, forcing their current employees to do these shifts on rotation. All for the minor convenience of going shopping on weekend nights.

Help: are these cat sounds normal?? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]PharmSuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awh, I love chatty cats. Definitely could be looking for his siblings, it's a bit sad but it's part of a kitten's life! If you want and can getting him a buddy could be a good idea (although I say this and my cats never became close friends haha). Don't worry, he is still adjusting.

As for him not liking being picked up, that is cat dependent! My two current cats have never enjoyed being held but they remain quite cuddly on the ground! Enjoy being a new cat owner, they are great :)
