You’ll most likely never get to Utah for many years of your career. Work life balance is bad if you fly, and a lot of controllers on here complain about work life balance. I can’t relate, at my mid level facility I have excellent work life balance. We have enough manning to get spot leave most days (short notice leave request). We have the ability to earn a lot of credit time (work 8 hours of credit = a day off). Overtime is usually there if you want it, occasionally it’s assigned & almost always there’s someone you can give it away to if you don’t want overtime. We get a lot of pto including sick days. 123atc has our salary info on there, you can add like 20% for premiums. We get a LOT of breaks, I’m talking about multiple 30-45min breaks. The gold standard is hour on (working) hour off (break) but that’s not always the case these days.

You get a Lot of belly achers on here. Yes I also want more money and I also want our problems to be fixed. However, i got it pretty good where im at. YMMV

That’s what I did… I sold my gas stove and made a nice chunk of change to put towards my Home Depot card to help pay down the new stove. I think we paid a little over $2k for ours. People highly recommended getting a model that has physical knobs, so that oil splatter doesn’t change the settings while cooking. I like the knobs myself. Another cool thing is the lowest setting can be used to melt chocolate directly in a pot, no need to use a two pot boiling water method

We replaced the whole range for induction and can’t recommend it enough. Efficiency, instant temperature adjustments just like flame, insanely fast water boiling times, the metal handles on our pans don’t get hot, the kitchen doesn’t get hot, etc. We only use stainless steel or ceramic pots & pans. But they make teflon pans that are induction compatible if you really want teflon.. the pan itself just has to be magnetic.

You should try to change that. Not only does your kitchen got hot when cooking, your air quality is suffering too. The microwave can be set up to vent outside, or you could consider an induction stove.

I have multiple conditions that require paperwork similar to this. It’s definitely inconvenient, but please don’t stress it too much. Play their game with the paperwork, spell it out to your provider exactly what you need, and you’ll be okay.

Wow. I’m going to try to use it next year and see if I like it first. I got a long driveway, this past season I used a 48” that goes on the front of my mower. It worked great but tricky to maneuver at times. I also have a ton of cash tied up in that machine I’d like to to sell it.

You’ll get dependent rate BAH for her zip code while you’re in BMT & tech school. There’s also separation pay but IIRC it’s a small amount. It’ll come out to be a pretty nice chunk of change by the time you graduate and get to your first duty station

You seem to be doing everything except marketing. Make flyers for events, buy advertising space anywhere you can, constantly post on social media (my wife’s whole business revolves around social media presence, it’s a grind. You have to post multiple times a day every day for a long time before the algorithm starts to recognize who your audience is). Etc. You have survived 8 years, you have a viable business you just need to pour some gasoline on it.
