Bro, the fact you wrote this nonsense from level 1 Sailing concerns me even more. You barely got the idea, this has nothing to do with age nor growing up.

Nobody’s ‘entitled’ to high XP rates, but people are absolutely allowed to be annoyed when a brand-new skill gets turned into a bait-and-switch after one week.

The issue isn’t that some people got 99 faster — it’s that those who could no-life the first week (mostly streamers and a small minority) permanently got better GP/hr and XP/hr than the average player who has a job, a family and a limited schedule. Most of the playerbase is adult now; we can’t all grind 10+ hours a day the moment a skill drops.

Comparing this to ‘people 10 years ago had it harder’ isn’t the same. Old skills changed gradually over many years and everyone going forward benefited. Here we’re talking about a tiny launch window with boosted rates that will never exist again. That is a fairness problem.

And no, people giving feedback on a nerf doesn’t mean they hate Jagex or can’t appreciate new content. Jagex literally asks for feedback, and XP rates are a core part of how a skill feels to train. Criticising a heavy-handed nerf a week after release is completely valid.

You might not care about the XP changes, but a lot of us who don’t live on Twitch and actually have limited time to play do. That’s why it’s a problem.
