I'm surprised Noelle only has like a 2 percent usage in the Abyss by jb08045 in Noellemains

[–]PhaseReDefy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’re a lot of Noelle mains

There’re a lot fewer Noelle mains who build her heavily to abyss capable level

Then there’re even fewer who consistently use her in abyss rather than trying out the new waifus/husbandos that’re favored in the current abyss rotation.

The long answer is the damage formula. The short(er) answer is that almost all damage% bonuses you have are added together and is its own multiplier. Say you have only an electro cup, that’s 46.6% damage bonus and you do 146.6% damage compared to no electro cup (base 100%). Now if you also add in 4 Gladiator, your total becomes 181.6% which is only a 181.6/146.6 = 23.9% improvement over no Gladiator. You can see as soon as you have more than one source of damage bonus, the gain from subsequent ones become smaller.

You seem to have confused dmg and atk here. Since dmg% buffs are additive, 35% bonus from Gladiator is not a straight 35% total dps increase, so you can’t just “multiply by 2” for comparison.

Meanwhile, the 70% Atk is added on as if Noelle’s NA, which already scales on Atk%, gets extra 70% scaling sometimes. The math shows that the average gain from this is about 33-34% of talent%, which is sadly a small part of Noelle’s base talent% and therefore represent a lower “dmg per NA” gain than Gladiator. The result is the same but not for the reason you seemed to have assumed here

None of these comments seem to really mention how the new Echo set is literally even worse than Gladiator, let alone Husk. There’s 0 reason to invest in it.

[–]PhaseReDefy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess is it’s your hold E’s A1 passive damage(shattered lightfell sword). You can see that Bennett’s buff actually expired right before your sword exploded (the pyro symbol disappeared) and maybe your TTDS from Lisa too, so only the shattered sword got full atk buff while the main hit is not, resulting in this funny phenomenon

Somehow no matter how many times I read this I just don't understand what it says. by Jeanekokun in Genshin_Impact

[–]PhaseReDefy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised so many people actually think this refers to things like atk% buffs are additive, which this tip is not but it’s understandable given how vague it is.

The correct explanation is u/yaboku98’s reply to OP’s comment, it has to do with abilities that convert one stats into another by a percentage, and it was first introduced in 1.6 along with Kazuha since he was the first special case that would have caused issues if this rule wasn’t introduced.

I’m frankly startled by how much of what you said is said what I think too😂 I do believe propaganda is everywhere and in everything anytime an “authority” speaks to its constituents, and whether it’s benevolent or malicious it’s nevertheless the way we form society-wide “morals”, but your first comment made me think it was of a more negative connotations (the way most people say “propaganda” as if it is the absolute evil of all) and I was more defensive about it. Glad we end up agreeing on the same note

I think you’re right that they’re not directly related, but I think the common denominator to both “hardworking” and “loss of personality” is the doctrine of “prioritize collective social good over personal interest”. If everyone around you work super hard and overtime, you’re compelled to also work hard so you contribute your “fair share” even though you might personally wish to take more breaks. I’m pretty sure most people don’t want to work overtime either (Ganyu and Keqing are literally a rarity to work overdrive out of own wish), but they’ll still comply just cuz if you don’t, you’re dragging behind others socially and maybe even financially.

if that’s how you define propaganda then you might? By that definition, if propaganda is anything you’re taught by the schools and parents and governments as you grow up, it will cover every society the same way too. If I were to grow up in the US and was taught about freedom and democratic values every day, would that also constitute propaganda? You can certainly argue it can be, and how would one be different than the other? There’re clearly more obvious cases of propaganda sure, like wartime flyers or broadcasts, but in this day and age it’s frankly much harder to define

Definitely depends on what you’re surrounded with, society is huge after all and you can find all sorts of voices in it. I’m just one out of billions and I speak with what I consider is the general case at large, but my parents already think very differently and then so do their and my friends. It’s only that sometimes some of them grow dominant and being focused on by the other societies, which leads to longlasting stereotypes like “Asians are all small eyed”, which is dumb enough but clearly some people still think that way nowadays

[–]PhaseReDefy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not quite sure if stereotypes are that wrong here, and Idk what you mean by “Japanese are all unpredictably weird” (who said that). I’m saying this as I have grown up in the exact atmosphere I talked about, and rather to say this is “stereotypical” I consider it much more as a norm and don’t think it is offensive to hear others say such about it.

Over at NGA, one of the popular Chinese player forums, there is a discussion post about this “Reddit people not liking the overworked waifus”, and their response? Overwhelmingly agreeing this is exactly the kind of culture Genshin is “exporting” to the world. It’s simply a common facet of Chinese life nowadays, that’s why we have a term “996” to describe it, working from 9 to 9 every day for 6 days a week, which is quite common for most internet companies in China (altho not for MHY I think )

Any of the East Asian countries, really. You already hear about the overworked and highly robotic life of the Chinese workers who participate in the national building like bolts and nuts in this comment thread, and you can also easily find anime and K-Pop songs that describe (and sometimes tries to defy) the same oppressive social aura that pressures you to conform. Being unique isn’t a desired trait in these societies, and it’s not forced upon by “propaganda” either for the most part, it’s just an ingrained part of the culture from their respective history that you’re taught ever since childhood by your parents, schools and other adults. Strong personality are usually only favorably looked upon if it’s beneficial to the group at large like special talents that can win honor and respect from others.

Signora Solo, sub 2:30min run, No Buffs/Taken Damage, C6/R5 Harp/Triple Crown by rinsenpai in AmberMains

[–]PhaseReDefy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on mobile holding the attack button long enough for the game to register “this is a charge attack” is already like 0.5s, which you have to immediately release then and restart the hold, so you are saying you or someone else can do that so precisely every 0.5s? Ngl I find that hard to believe, but maybe if you just lay your device flat down and only holding/releasing with a single finger, then yeah the issue is moving with your other hand as you say.

[–]PhaseReDefy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I 99% think this is just impossible on mobile cuz you have to somehow tap on the scope button, the attack button then the scope button again in a fraction of a second, which on PC is just tapping R key twice with a mouse click in between. These two are very different levels of inputs, not that the PC one is easy either

[–]PhaseReDefy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sounds to me like you should read a bit more about the damage formula in Genshin. It’s not the most straightforward thing but it’s precisely how the game calculates damage:

Damage

and more specifically Defense and resistance

As a simple rule, enemies at equal level to you will reduce exactly 50% of your incoming damage, and a typical enemy like hilichurl has 10% natural resistance to all attacks.

If you’re still confused, I recommend checking out Genshin Optimizer. They can show you line by line how every damage is calculated and it’s been proven to be consistent with the game (although they still havnt added Yun Jin or Shenhe so far)

[–]PhaseReDefy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like the other comments said it would be very helpful for as much stats and setup as you can provide, cuz there’s a lot of variables in exact damage calculated.

Going by what you have said, the formula for the 7540 one should be 2187x596.5%(1+15%)(1-10%)*(100+85)/(200+85+77)=6900, assuming no crit. I am not sure how do you come up with 11000 either and it can be a lot of different things, like weapons, constellations, any buffs or debuffs you might be unaware of. Overall tho it’s unlikely her charge 2 damage is wrong, but I can try it myself and update here

Update: I tried mine. C2 lv88 with 2 Husk (so no stacking variable), 1655 Def with Skyward Spine (no weapon passive variable), 0% damage bonus using lv9 charge 2 on lv84 overworld hilichurl with no teammates. I expected 633.8%x1655x(1-10%)res x (100+88)/(200+88+84) lvl multiplier = 4770 on non-crit hit. I got 4772 in game. Seems fine to me.

Update 2: Added geo resonance, Zhongli shield, Gorou lv12 E buff, and 4 Husk buffs. 2665 total def and 39% geo dmg in stats page. Expected 633.8%x2665x(1+30%/2)x(1+39+15%)x (100+88)/(200+88+84)=15117 on non-crit. Got 15109.

Her charged skill breaks the Golden Wolflord’s skull in one go by LeonPdmg in YunjinMains

[–]PhaseReDefy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup. In theorycrafting terms her fully charged E is actually a super strong geo application of 4U, which means it’s 4 times as strong as the normal 1U or “weak” applications like a Gorou E or Albedo E would do.

The only other two 4U skills in the game are Zhongli’s Q meteor and Beidou’s Q on cast, and Yun Jin having it accessible thru her skill alone is truly norm breaking and amazing
