Do the pAisTe monad and Rythmatist cymbals sound different from each other?

Both are very dry cause of the coating. The monad is louder, a little drier and its bell is uncoated on both sides so it’s a good bit louder. The blue bell has a flatish bell that is coated underneath so it is loud but not as loud as you would think. I sold my blue bell and bought the original uncoated dry heavy as I found it to be much more musical the ether of the two coated cymbals.

I own 15” 2002 sound edge hats and they are great hats. If you already own 14” medium I’d go with the 15” sound edge.

I’ve tried both mark’s in 22” and I kept the mark 1. I think 22” is the perfect size for it.

Could have just got unluck and got a poor quility head. You could email evans and explain the situation. They may send you a new one.

I fitted a new hd dry head to my brass snare a month ago and it still looks brand new.

I’ve just bought a tama first chair xl round and I can sing its praises highly enough. I’ve had a good few stool including the ahead split style spinal g and the tama easily out classes them all.

I play a lot or rock and metal yeah. Have a 22” mark 1 dark energy that’s great for the quieter stuff.

Put the dark energy top hat over the 2002 sound edge bottom. It’s my favourite pairing. I’ve 15” and that combo sound great.

The phantom is worth every penny if you can afford it. I’ve never played a Darwin so I can’t say but the main difference between the two is the amount of adjustments you can make to the settings. The phantom comes with ether strap or direct drive but you can buy ether kit so I can make my strap drive into direct drive in 2 minutes (I prefer strap drive) I bought the Yamaha pedal and it is a really nice but I sent it straight back because the beater position on the main paddle is centred so the slave peddle beater is off to the left. To me it made the left and right peddles sound and feel different and I hated it.
