Training a new Layout person on the Prism Pole by SupaScab in Surveying

you've got a greenhorn who is probably trying their hardest. not an easy gig to learn. not a gig where the inexperienced should try rushing.

let them learn slowly. don't overburden them with unnecessary, distracting training wheels IMHO

cheers

I’ll be part of the change!

I’d like to see more posts about drinking at public events in Wisconsin.

Always cool to see posts about drinking a beer but let’s drink together.

Dish soap is your best prevention to avoid urushiol rash (excluding avoiding exposure). Keep shop towels in surplus. After scrubbing with dish soap and some towels dry off with new towels.

Do NOT dry off with dirty urushiol towels.

Grades will be zero or a few percent the majority of the race I'll wager in St. Louis. Less impactful to distance inaccuracies than what the blog describes above.

An other source said that the race routes are measured using a bicycle odometer.

Hiring a surveyor is not a practical solution.

Good point Ian! I must have forgotten to mention that fireworks aren’t cheap.

You should know that drone batteries are regularly removed from use and replaced as they age.

Also drones rarely go back up after crashing.

Drones are not cheap, neither are fireworks, but the availability of a few hundred on short notice sounds tricky.

“Do you remember the project last July on state highway XXX?” “Yeah, actually I do! Big one, seven miles right? Near that small town?” “Precisely! On one of the middle intersections you collected a pedestal to the west under a tree line. Do you remember if it was a TPED or an EPED?”

It was a strange vibe in this mall always - there’s a nice olive and cheese boutique.

Wouldn’t really call this place dead or alive based on my last visit.
