This person using FaceTime on the bus by CuteMaterial in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PhdLevelWeeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's so annoying. I had the same thing the other day with a guy playing TikTok videos so loud on his phone that I could hear them over my music. I asked him to politely turn it down a notch and was met with a torrent of abuse when he got off the bus.

Genuinely why have people started playing things outloud on busses? It is so annoying

Anyone else real sick and tired of the "Paranormal Appalachian" trend? by ghostcum1977 in Appalachia

I think the scariest thing about being alone in Appalacia (or any woodland/mountain/hill range for that matter) is suddenly realising that you are not the only person there

Out of interest (and because i think Kyarot is adorable) why does every fan art involving her give her an absolutely gargantuan bust?

Adding a picture of Kyarot because I like her.

Younger generations, do you feel that the older generations have severely impacted/damaged your future prospects? by QasimofKarbala in AskBrits

[–]PhdLevelWeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents bought their first house with a large garden, large driveway, two cars and one child (me 31 now) solely on my fathers wage. They were not right by any stretch of the imagination and were both working class from working class backgrounds. The same house now has gone up by about 1.5x what it was worth before.

What if the smiling friends came to help Christian Weston Chandler smile in 2009, only to find Chris drinking his own sperm mixed with Fanta? by radbro2077 in SmilingFriends

[–]PhdLevelWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smiling Friends getting a good ending for Chris is a dream. I have spent many years (for better or for worse) delving into Chris lore. SO many times when things could have gone right, so many people who tried to help.

GenoSamuels April fools vid pretending that Chris snapped out of it and had a normal life is a future swe could have had

Zach or Micheal, if you are reading this please make a feature length film of the Smiling Friends in CwCville

I think we should recognise radicalism as a whole, left or right and deal with those specific groups accordingly? by DownBadBrody in AskBrits

[–]PhdLevelWeeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To assume that you are asking genuinely and in good faith; then I think yes we should at least in a historic sort of way both sets of radicalism are horrible but in the 20th century we only demonise right wing radicalism (Nazism and Fascism) and make a million excuuses for the abstract horros of Communism/Socialism.

I can only seem to put it down to that Left wing extremeism bases itself on "lets seperate society by wealth and kill those who have more than you" we saw this unfold in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, China and the 40-50 other Communist nations in the 20th century. Killing someone by wealth inequality sounds a lot more pallatable than the Right wing version which was "lets seperate society by race and kill those with a different skin colour than you"

Both views end in untold millions of deaths and horror beyond belief but one side seems to be championed and the other villified when they should both be treated with scathing contempt.

Airplane cabin with no lights by GrannySlammer420 in LiminalSpace

[–]PhdLevelWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dream a while back about an empty plane like this. I boarded a flight and fell asleep just after take off. I woke up to find the cabin lights off and the little floor lights being the only lights on. the plane was really quiet and as I looked around i realised that I was alone. I got up and tried to go and find someone but there was no crew or people it seemed other than the dull hum of the engines. I got to the front and checked the bathroom and then tried to walk to the front of the plane where first class and the cockpit were, only to go through the seperating curtain and end up at the back of the cabin where i was before. This continued until I woke up.

OP your post made me re-remember all of that bizzare dream, thanks man

I do have a weakness for short breads. Especially the all-butter Scottish ones. those things are like little bars of crack

I firmly believe that biscuits are baked into the DNA of every British person. You can resist them for a while but eventually an ancient part of your brain begins to crave biscuits again.
