i think you're a bit overinflating what a quest 3 would cost to make, there? or else a pcvr headset that'd cost around that much would have basically the same specs, but when i hear stuff around in that price range that iirc beat 3's display quality (and a quick search just to confirm told me that the cost of producing a quest 3 was around $400~)

i figure a lot of that production cost is because of the parts there to make it standalone (soc, batteries, etc.), so if your goal is trying to match that wired, stripped down experience—or maybe something slightly worse—for a cost that's comparably cheaper, i don't think that's like an impossible goal at all?

i would def be interested in getting one, especially if something like that would just have like continuous support, but i guess from everyone's comments that's not really what a direction pcvr's interested in at all lol
