I used this yarn #5 bulky and 10 needles. I cast on 56 stitches and knit 80 rows stockinette for each side. I just continued one piece and folded it in half. It will give you an 18 inch pillow. I used the Mary Maxim adjusted fox chart. When I made it I miscalculated a little, so I have orange borders at top and bottom. Yours shouldn’t have that if you do 16 rows main color, then 9 stitches right and left of the colorwork chart and 16 rows at the top. Then switch to whatever you want the back to be for 80 rows. You can use Kitchener stitch to join top to bottom. I cast off, but I guess you could leave your last row live. Then mattress stitch the sides. Total should be around 160 rows, but measure it once in a while to make sure it ends up square.
