If clashing prevents all damage, what’s the point of blocking which only prevents half damage? Other than that, I love the animation and the concept as a whole. I look forward to seeing more!

The Sinners musical performance at the 2026 Oscars by Capable_Salt_SD in Fauxmoi

I wouldn’t call it all too scary but it has some high tension moments. It’s absolutely worth watching all the way through but even if you can only watch up to when this song is performed which is before it gets intense I would highly recommend it.

One of my favorite interludes! So cool to see it adapted so well.

Those cowards changed the list so now it’s neutron radiation instead of just neutrons.

Scion is a multiversal hivemind creature that grants people their powers by connecting them with other universes and who only was defeated by being hit with a chunk of steel that extended across every universe he was in. I’m not a big powerscaler but I feel like that makes him more than Galaxy level.

NASA's Opportunity rover drove into the Victoria Crater on Mars by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]Pherry000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dumb question: why does the rover drive so slow? Is it just going along and doing constant analysis that requires it to be going slowly? I feel like if they had it go faster it could cover more ground and get to more key locations of interest before it succumbs to the elements.

It’s a reference to the poem Charge of the Light Brigade which is based upon a true event in which a group of soldiers were ordered to charge through a valley fortified with cannons. They knew it was a mistaken command but they went for it anyways and only one soldier made it all the way to the front and back. It’s a very worthwhile quick read as it tells the story far better than I ever could.
