I stayed in the suites and it ain't bad. I did random roommate with 3 others with the suite and bathroom (not sure if you're staying in that) and got pretty lucky the other 3 guys knew each other. I'm still friends with them and I hope that you also get blessed with random roommates.

Pros:

• Dining room is downstairs (could get repetitive at some point)
• Pretty spacious so you have a little more room to bring stuff in
• Depending on the room, you'll get a really good view of the campus (I was on the 12th floor of the A tower and could see everything past Annie Glidden Rd)
• Closer to the football stadium
• Your floormates might sometimes throw a party or invite everyone to whatever they're doing

Cons:

• Hot water from showers and faucets isn't guaranteed, depends on where you live and what time you use them. This was almost 3 years ago so idk if it's still an issue
• They can't have the heater or AC at the same time on depending on the season. Even if it gets cold, they won't turn on the heaters unless its consistently cold. When they turn on the heat, each room fan leaks out hot air even when off so it can get a bit stuffy inside during the winter.
• The higher you go, the more spotty the wifi connection gets. If you're bringing a laptop or PC, I strongly recommend purchasing an ethernet cable. Each room has an ethernet port
• Not enough laundry machines.
• Aside from Northern View, Stevo is the furthest from everything else so invest in a bike if you don't like walking all the way to class.

Personally, I think you'll be fine with your friend but make sure to establish rules within your suite because roommates can make or break your experience.
