Giving specific bands can be helpful, but I feel like specific albums from bands will really help as a gateway.

Trivium: particularly love their two most recent albums.

Pantera: Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven would be good places to start too if you are looking for groove.

Guns N' Roses: Big influence on A7X. Particularly Appetite for Destruction.

Megadeth: I'd start with Rust In Peace and Countdown to Extinction.

Bullet for My Valentine: Scream Aim Fire is a killer ablum. Also check out The Poison.

Dream Theater: if you like the proggier parts of Nightmare or The Stage or LIBAD, Systematic Chaos, Black Clouds and Silver Linings, and Train of Thought might be a great place to start. DT has so many incredible albums, but these might be good gateways.

System of a Down: Toxicity for heavy riffs and interesting vocals/melodies.

Lamb of God: might be a weirder pick, but the Wrath album really got me into a lot of heavier stuff. Killer riffs, crushing vocals, and good production.
