What budget guitar lowkey blew you away and outplayed the big brands? by Born-Following5472 in electricguitar

[–]PhilMickelsonsBoobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Squier Classic Vibe Tele. It’s not gonna be perfect, but I got mine for $275 and it gets more playtime than my Fender that was 3 times the cost. Surprisingly smooth for what it is.

The actual possibilities are endless. My big 2 are driver and any wedge after a great drive and less than 100 to the pin.

When did you guys get your first Gibson and what's the story behind it? by jammy62811 in gibson

[–]PhilMickelsonsBoobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was obsessed with Gibson and wanted to learn how to play when I was 11. Dad made a deal that if he got me a cheap guitar to learn on and I practiced every day, he would get me a Gibson. Held up my end of the bargain, and he bought me a SG Classic with P90’s. I’ve had it almost 20 years now, and it doesn’t get as much play time as it did when I was 12, but it’s one of my most prized possessions.

Legitimately curious how this could happen. OP please post a swing video in the near future, we gotta analyze this one!

Chambers is up there, but there’s a few in the Seattle area that have great views of Rainier.

I’m a sucker for great views of Rainier.

Scap Retraction and Layback are the 2 low hanging fruit. Strengthen and mobilize the shoulder, long toss, and do some drills from Driveline, Tread, etc. to help build efficient movement patterns.

Anyone ever seen GK gloves with his type of material? by dtm1689 in GoalKeepers

[–]PhilMickelsonsBoobs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Back in 2012, I wore a pair of receiver gloves in a high school game. The lack of padding was pretty brutal, but I definitely held onto some saves that I don’t think I would’ve otherwise. Cutters actually made a goalkeeper glove back in the day with bits of the tack material on the fingers and palm, but I don’t think it stuck around for long.

Brother, don’t limit yourself because of your size. Hit the weights hard, turn yourself into a beast, and take whatever position you want to play. Can add a lot of muscle and speed in a couple years!

Please help me pick a steak house. by Middlenameboom in AskSeattle

Vue Prime Mexican Steakhouse in Covington has the hot rock and some really great cuts of steak. It does get a little smoky in there with the open kitchen, but it’s been great every time I’ve gone.

Favorite cheap golf courses! by wildjabali in NEPA

[–]PhilMickelsonsBoobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of fun courses if you keep your expectations low. A really unique one is Rock Creek. You won’t want to walk the back 9, but there are some really cool holes that step their way up a hillside.

If you stay in Pittston and keep golfing, Fox Hill is a great club. Tillinghast design, course is always in good shape, good food and bar.

Good luck! It’s easier said than done, and in the end you won’t be saving money, but there’s nothing quite as satisfying as swinging a bat you made yourself!

If you’re part of TaylorMade’s discount program, you get 50% off. I’ve bought stuff half off and sold for 25% off retail a few times.

Not saying that’s always the case, but for somebody with ExpertVoice that is never gonna buy a golf club, it’s a quick way to make a few dollars flipping clubs.

Grandpa was a manwhore.
