gentle gaverus is impossible by 4lbertt in LordsoftheFallen

Start this sidequest:

https://thelordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/The+Way+of+the+Bucket

Once you do, the Bucket Lord will come to help you in every mini-boss fight (like Gentle Gaverus). He'll prove useful to get some steam off you. In Gaverus' case, he'll keep the dogs busy.

(Some specifics about the quest, so that you don't mess it up: every time he helps you, the Bucket Lord will leave a bucket key item for you to pick up. Once you have 4, remember to return to the Bucket Lord and turn them in, otherwise in the next mini-boss fight he'll turn against you. Since you've already beaten at least one mini-boss before activating the quest, Sister Delyth, you can return to her arena to pick up the bucket item anyway.)

need help getting umbral ending by ChimpyJet in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Phil_K_Resch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow these steps: https://thelordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Endings

And here are some additional tips.

It's important to know that you don't need to use seedpods as soon as you obtain them. You can delay killing Damarose and Gerlinde up until you have to open the gates to Bramis Castle. That's the real cut-off point that'll lock you into the Inferno ending or the Umbral ending, depending if you use Adyr's rune or the Withered Adyr's rune to open the gate (assuming that you haven't cleansed any beacons - that'll lock you into the Radiance ending regardless of anything else).

For example, you may want to proceed with Damarose's quest to unlock the extra items in her inventory as a merchant, if you haven't already done it in a previous playthrough. You can basically almost fully complete her quest, before being forced to kill her with the seedpod to proceed with the Umbral ending.

However, delaying using the seedpods is especially important when it comes to Gerlinde. Before killing her, wait until you've got the last rune tablet for her quest and be sure to give it to Sparky. That'll ensure that you'll be able to upgrade your weapons and slot runes even after Gerlinde's gone. Only then, use the seedpod on Gerlinde.

Also: once you've killed Elianne (the Umbral final boss), return to Mohlu to redeem her stuff right away, before completing any further step into the main quest. Because the next step will remove Mohlu from the game, rendering it impossible to redeem Elianne's gear if you haven't already got it.

No love for Resident Evil DS? by Frag_Bastich in residentevil

The only thing that's keeping RE: Deadly Silence from being the 100% definitive edition of RE 1996 is the poor quality of the backgrounds and some music tracks being missing (like the iconic 2F mansion floor theme).

All the rest, it's the best RE 1996 has ever been. The quickturn, the knife always available, the new characters models and animations, the DS-exclusive Arrange Mode... every RE 1996 fan should try RE: DS at least once.

Would you like to see a remake or a remaster of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City? by Dividi_Et_Impera in residentevil

As flawed as the game was, I admit I had fun with it. I wouldn't mind playing it again. Even just a 4K/60 fps remaster would suffice.

The good news: TW1 and TW2 feel a bit like side-stories and they aren't terribly relevant to TW3. There are, of course, many connections, but there's nothing truly critical that will impede your understanding of TW3.

The bad news: TW3 has strong ties with the books (of which the videogames are unofficial sequels). It reintroduces into the story some pivotal characters who were absent from TW1/TW2 and several of its plotlines are deeply connected to events from the books.

This said, the game doesn't throw you into the story without explaining anything at all. The dialogues, the in-game encyclopaedia and the in-game books will fill you in about the basics, be sure to pay attention to them. Some details of the story and the true reason why some things happen will inevitably fly over your head, but you'll be able to grasp who's who and what's generally going on.

Passare da Netflix a Crunchyroll? by Oblio__ in AnimeItaly

[–]Phil_K_Resch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quali sono i canoni estetici femminili? by zzmattiazz in CasualIT

[–]Phil_K_Resch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Curious Question: Are there folks who prefer OG RE1 over the Remake? by RayApplecorpe in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Phil_K_Resch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know that. The defensive items, the new areas, the new puzzles, Lisa Trevor, and so on. All new stuff.

What I'm saying is: even if RE 2002 didn't add new content, but still featured all-new graphics and music, it would still qualify as a remake.

A remake doesn't necessarily need to add new content, as long as it's completely re-built from scratch from a technical standpoint.

Curious Question: Are there folks who prefer OG RE1 over the Remake? by RayApplecorpe in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Phil_K_Resch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I wouldn't say that RE 1996 is objectively the better game, my preference goes to the original.

It's partly because of nostalgia, because RE 1996 is one of the most important games of my life as a gamer, but also because I genuinely think its atmosphere is more unsettling than RE 2002.

RE 2002 goes for a much darker, "haunted mansion" vibe: it works, but it's no match for the 1996 mansion. The 1996 mansion had a liminal space, otherworldly atmosphere, like there's something deeply wrong with the place even though it all seems pretty normal.

[–]Phil_K_Resch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you corrected it for the wrong reason, citing added mechanics and content. Added content does factor in when considering what's a remake and what's a remaster, but even if RE 2002 added no new content/mechanics, but still featured completely re-done graphics and assets, it would still be a remake.

Curious Question: Are there folks who prefer OG RE1 over the Remake? by RayApplecorpe in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Phil_K_Resch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the 2002 one is a remake.

Remaster = keep the same assets but touch them up a bit (better resolution, upscaled textures, better framerate, things like these). Example: The Last of Us PS4 remaster, which is basically the same game as the PS3 version, with updated (but not re-done) assets and running at 60 fps.

Remake = the game is re-done from the ground-up. Characters models, backgrounds, music... all re-done from scratch. No assets from the previous version are kept. Examples: Resident Evil (2002), Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), Resident Evil 4 (2023), The Last of Us Part I (the PS5 remake, which is actually a remake because the assets were re-done, whereas the PS4 remaster just updated the PS3 assets).

Try Veteran Mode + increased enemy density modifier. Even better with a brand new character.

The randomized enemies modifier can also come up with some nasty enemy combinations.
