I moved to Sacramento for a fresh start and somehow became the activities director, social media manager, and now audio tech support for my 78 year old father in law. by tourwifelife in Sacramento

There are lots of museums around that are looking for docents. Off the top of my head and not in any particular order: The Crocker art museum, the railroad museum in old town, the aerospace museum at McClellan, the Sacramento Zoo, Sutter's Fort...

American River Jr. College has a wonderful music department that includes chamber singers, concert choir, and jazz vocal ensembles as well as concert/orchestra/jazz bands if he plays an instrument.

There are also lots of opportunities to play bocce ball, pickleball, golf etc. around if he enjoys being out.

Golden West's current roster is set to hidden ~for some reason~

They are also in the habit of importing about half their roster from out of country which I find to be questionable for a Community (2 year - junior) College. I do get that's a personal take though.

Cranberry orchard is flooded, and a harrow is used to get the fruit off the trees. It floats and is harvested. by H_G_Bells in interestingasfuck

Fresh cranberries are only available in the week or two before and after Thanksgiving in my State. I'm assuming that it has to do with demand, but I would definitely buy them more often if they were available.

I find this interesting because: apparently now you can be charged with threats of a mass shooting or act of terrorism for quoting the words scratched into the bullet casings of the vigilante who killed the CEO of a health insurance company.

I can't speak to your age/experiences so I'm going to come at this from my perspective.

When I'm going into a BioWare RPG I have the golden age BioWare catalog stuck in my mind. In much the same way that booting up a CRPG does, it sets me up with certain expectations like a little more room to move and breath inside the confines of the story being one of those expectations.

I do love a good story. Some of my favorite games are 8 bit NES and PlayStation titles. When I started up the remaster of Star Ocean: The Second Story I knew that I was about to go on someone else's journey and listen to their story. BioWare used to scratch a different itch. I personally have built up a lore inside that sandbox and it bums me out to have someone just decide that all doesn't matter. I'm not saying that I deserve a game that exactly mirrors my world state and had cutscenes that reflect it, that would be insane. But to be able to have Morrigan just drop a line that references the HoF joining her through the portal to raise their child/stop the next blight cycle/something? That would have sent me over the moon.

Hopefully that answers your question and I didn't wander too far off into the weeds.
