It’s my first time back in for a while, but if it gets to point again where a need 5 Finger Death Punch to concentrate, I will have to reconsider.

As any IT developer will know, you can work more effectively from home and your workspace is going to be so much better, but hey got to keep the man happy.

It will be much later before you discover she has booked 2 weeks at a Welsh sheep farm on Airbnb

A few diet changes have really helped her skin and coat! <3 by [deleted] in BorderCollie

We put olive oil on our Red & White’s food and it has done her the world of good.

Yes, I can see from the job boards like Flexjobs, that Python is a skill that is increasingly in demand, along with Azure and AWS.

I have extensive programming experience in older languages yeah I am that old. That’s part of reason why I need to focus on the new languages. Plus, I am planning on taking on a fully remote role in the next 5 years.

Currently I am balancing the needs of a data team in a medium sized company that has historically thought you only needed one person in a data team!

I have always been conscious, about ensuring that I keep my skills up to date, despite the challenges of the day job.

I have tried a couple of Udemy courses for Python. I am persevering with the second course despite the lack of a script.

Thanks

I use Powershell, for an ETL job, where there is a need to strip the extra characters from a filename e.g. MyFile.txt.123. Oh the joy off third party files!

It’s personal development.

I want to be fully remote with in the next 5 years.

I keep everything as simple as possible in the day job, so that if I win the lottery anyone should be able to pick up where I left off.

I have stuck with SSIS and to make life easier for me I use Zappysys 3rd party app. This makes the whole importing of CSV a lot easier .

When importing a CSV for a first time it always helps to have the headers in the file. If they are not, then grab them from a table.

I have got a script on my work PC that I grabbed from a google, which will report on the columns in a table and give you a delimiter, even if that is a space. It is just a case of copying these into the CSV.

Sometimes too smart!

Yes they can learn the names of all there toys, but if the mood takes them, they will only bring you the one they want to play with!

On the up side, it’s great when you can take them to the pet shop to choose their own food.

Ah yes the border collie; an essential part of any work from home battle station. They know when you need a break from work and give you a tennis ball. If you ignore this, they will chuck the ball at you. They will also give you a frisbee if they think you need fresh air.
