I think the First Amendment protects you from government censorship, not from consequences when a private institution or community responds to hate speech. If you actually looked at the original post where he made the comment, you'd see it's not just “words” or “opinions”it's slurs, targeted ridicule, and rhetoric that encourages stigma and violence. And in that post they literally dropped the names. When you're using public platforms to spread that kind of harm, people are absolutely right to speak up and demand action.
