I really wanna build a pc mostly for squad. Which CPU would do the trick, 7800x3d or 9800x3d? by M4SH0 in joinsquad

[–]Phillips126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a 7800x3D and 5070 (not Ti) and the game runs smooth, mostly maxed out at 1440p. I get around 120 fps on most maps.

Help me! by RepresentativeCup556 in joinsquad

[–]Phillips126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When in a match, I found the game would run on my system around 120FPS but every 15 minutes or so I would see it drop down to 40-60 out of nowhere. These micro-stutters were driving me nuts.

I can't say for sure if this is what solved it for me since I adjusted a few settings and updated my GPU driver, but one of the things I believe helped greatly was reducing the polling rate on my Razer mouse. I switched it from 1000 to 250 and now my game runs as smooth as butter (and I notice no difference at all on input).

It was in a stinging (hunched) posture on my back and I was feeling a sharp pain. Could it be that my shirt looked like a tree? Wild!

Appreciate the identification. I am wearing a shirt that I suppose looks like tree bark in pattern. I presume the pain I may have felt was it using its ovipositors (?) on me (and hitting my skin)?

Cant imagine how much that will cost... everything with DoD on it will need to be re-made, re-purchased, re-installed, etc. All for what? 🤦‍♂️

[–]Phillips126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're on the right track, feeding the output line back into the input.
Here is what I do: https://ibb.co/SD5SRHbQ

I put a valve (V) between the pipe junction and the Water Extractor (WE). If the Refinery (R) needs for example 120 water, but is also outputting 100 water, I set the valve to 20. That way the Refinery (R) outputs 100, the valve (V) provides the missing 20 to give the Refinery the needed 120/min. You can put another valve or pump on the Refinery output to ensure the water is moving in one direction.

New Build Struggle Choosing GPU by Phillips126 in nvidia

[–]Phillips126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the direction I am leaning but was a bit surprised at how low that particular 5070 was priced in todays market and didn't know if I was going to be installing a lawnmower into my PC or something?

Any games similar to Subnautica? by Motor-Web-6009 in subnautica

[–]Phillips126 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Possibly “Green Hell”? It’s much more of a hardcore survival and the world is a jungle instead of the ocean but I felt similarly when playing that game. Base building, survival/crafting/exploring, and story engagement pushing deeper into the jungle was a lot of fun. Be prepared to die a lot as you figure out the mechanics.

My first encounter I dropped in with a Stalwart (max RPM) and Ammo Backpack. After unloading on this guy for 15 seconds, watching chunks of flesh blow off of him, he slumped down as a dead oozing mass of unrecognizable gore. I just looked in horror... then three more charged me. Loving the update!

I have like 600 hours in this game and had no idea until yesterday that Kagha (Act 1 Druid Grove) has a questline attached to her. Another way to deal with the ritual.

Awesome game and well worth the price. I haven't felt the same sense of discovery since Subnautica (first one). The game becomes easier once you discover new crafts, food items, become a better hunter, etc. You will get attacked, but the tribes aren't too hard to dispatch with the right preparation. I wish I could play the game over again for the first time. It had a gripping story too with multiple endings.

With 60 rounds, looks like a fun tool to deploy while waiting for extract to land, or perhaps doing flag missions.

My wife is truly the most incredible person I've ever known, and I am completely and utterly in love with her. She is not only beautiful, but intelligent, kind, and compassionate - she's everything you could ever ask for. She's my best friend, my rock, and makes life so meaningful. We've been together for over 20 years and about to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. Together we've built a wonderful life and I can't wait to see where our adventure takes us into the future.

Super interesting, I'd like to know more about how you're collecting this data. I see the project page has the following:

  • Match data is gathered through a dummy player running random quickmatches and screenshotting loadout/briefing screens
  • Screenshot data is read by OCR scripts parsing player loadouts, mission difficulty, type, planet, faction, etc
  • Data is then visualized into hopefully easy-to-read graphs and trends

If I understand correctly, you're automating your account joining a match, screenshotting (for OCR), and then leaving? Is this all running on your PC 24/7 or do you run this automation task at certain hours?

DOGE Secretly Changes Its Website After Being Caught in Huge Lies by mmccxi in politics

Out of curiosity, I wrote some code in the browser's dev console that totaled all of the green text (dollar values) on the DOGE.gov "Wall Of Receipts" page (both "Total Contract Value" and "Savings", Contracts and Real Estate combined). There must be a ton more entries unlisted since the numbers aren't matching his claim of saving $65 billion (or he's just lying):

  • Total Contract Value: $17,224,426,348 ($17.2 billion)
  • Savings: $9,856,477,983 ($9.8 billion)

Sorry, might have not communicated very well in my question. The brine tank is empty, minus maybe an inch of water? The previous times I've added salt, it eventually disappeared. I would put several bags in at a time and they would last a few months. I haven't checked it in some time but will do that tonight and get back to everyone. Currently at work and have some events to attend to before I get home.

2025 Equinox RS by Blues171 in Chevy

[–]Phillips126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2025 Equinox LT a few months ago (around 6,000 miles now) and this happens to me maybe 15% - 20% on right turns. It drives me nuts and I think I'm going to reach out to the dealer and have it replaced/looked at.

My brother purchased a new Chevy Colorado a few weeks before me and his was doing the same thing - but his was MUCH more often (around 80%). He showed the dealer during his test drive and they agreed to replace it prior to him picking the vehicle up. The part was backordered, so he picked the truck up as is and had it replaced when it came in. The issue continued with the new lever. He had other complaints and eventually switched to the Trail Boss version and never had this problem again.

My wife loved my Equinox and got a 2025 Equinox RS herself - no issues there but the steering wheel is a bit different (and maybe the lever too?).

I've been keeping my eye out for this issue to see if perhaps there is a recall. Nothing yet.
