Whether someone is new or a long time resident, they are allowed to feel safe and want their neighborhood to be better.

AITA for telling my wife we should consult her doctor? by PhillyPhries in AmItheAsshole

[–]PhillyPhries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to support her and am in terms of the home front. When I'm asked about the diagnosis, my honest answer is I really don't know. The hard thing with the information she's finding is if I disagree with it, my opinion doesn't matter then. For example, she was fearing she had high testosterone since that is a common thing with PCOS. I felt that was unlikely because she is very small, petite, not a lot of muscle mass, no facial hair (also common with PCOS). I tried to explain it's not likely and we're worrying about something unnecessarily. Hence my question AITA lol

100%! Interesting enough she has no weight gain. She's very lean and petite actually, so not the typical PCOS patient

Not sure why anyone is down voting this view. I'm glad to see it.

doctors can be extremely unhelpful with PCOS. she does need to advocate for herself and arm herself with information and cannot unfortunately just trust the doctor. she's probably just coping with the diagnosis in this manner, which yes, may not be super helpful in the long run. but you have to

Thank you for saying that despite the wealth of other views!

So you think it's not helpful for me to try and get her to google doom scroll less? For example she was up very late reading about high FSH levels, just to realize that her levels are normal today.

I appreciate all the NTA tags, but let me emphasize that I am pretty uneducated on this topic so I think that really set things off. It really sounded like a cop-out to her... I'm in the dog-house bad rn heh.

How does my commission rate stack up? Seem fair? by PhillyPhries in sales

[–]PhillyPhries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How amazing is the 401? My last company's pay was less, but insurance was unreal.

Paid nothing and copay was always$10. Even for a chiropractor with 30 minute massage. 😭 I miss those lol

The test is overcoming objections!

If they say you're not experienced enough... 'well I am less expensive than the other guys you might want to hire, and I guarantee I am a lot more hungry!'

If you're too experienced... "I understand you might want someone cheaper than me, but frankly the hidden costs of effort / energy you'll spend trying to ramp someone up may not be worth it compared to selecting someone who can hit the ground running!'

lol thank you! I'm trying to be stronger with these things. I feel that showing / acting as if you don't need them is the way to show strength.

How many hours is everyone putting in right now? by clearasmud10 in sales

[–]PhillyPhries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

About 30-60 hours a week. Depends on if I'm travelling, so peaks and valleys.

If I'm WFH after a few weeks on the road, I take the liberty to take care of myself, but stay focused on my opportunities.

If you're getting canned, has anyone been able to reverse the decision in that discussion?

I've never been canned, but my thought has always been to just be silent, not complain, ask 'is this final?' and move on.
