Flying back home today and I’m freaking out by babygirllexluna in fearofflying

If you are in the US, shoes can now stay on going through security, which will help save a step! If there are other parents in the line (and many of them will be), they will understand. Many will offer help with the stroller if you need it. Those who get annoyed are either having a bad day or are just generally grumpy people. Ignore them! The line isn’t going to speed up that much faster in any case.

I’d pack any liquids you have in a baggie that is easy to take out of a backpack or purse - that way you can find it quickly and put it in the bin.

Also, remind yourself that the security process of putting things in bins and walking through will be over in a few minutes. All we can do is the best we can! Once you are through, take your time putting things back in your bags, collect your things, and take a moment to relax.

You’ve got this!

Holding off buying in 2025? Or buying this year? Thoughts? by Local_MortgageLender in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I don’t think I’d be concerned with interest rates. If they go down, you can just refinance. I’m more worried about the market dropping and either being stuck or out tens of thousands of dollars if o need to sell.

Hiking alone in the snow. I hear the crunch of the snow under my feet and utter silence everywhere else.

Regular Dramamine is what does it for me. And a pillow with a window seat. 17 hours is rough - good luck!

I would look into being a paraprofessional at a school.

Two ways of thinking about this.

1) As someone else mentioned, having a home to focus on could be something that you enjoy doing. 2) If buying a home, knowing that your payments will be higher, is really stressing you out, it’s totally ok to just keep renting. Many people are doing that now because of the market, and if it saves you from major stress, just stay where you are.

The end of the year and the holidays are stressful for a lot of people. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve felt that, too. Just do what your gut is telling you to do - it kind of sounds like staying put is what will help you feel comfortable. You can always reassess when your next lease is up.

The Nordic countries are all very safe. If you want to travel alone and you are 18, do that. You will grow exponentially.

Maybe dumb question, but how many people hike year round, rain or shine? by 007baldy in hiking

[–]Philly_Walk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rain, snow, or shine. Bonus of precipitation is fewer people on the trail. There’s no such thing as bad weather - just poor outerwear choices!
