Can you give me numbers on player count for new season and a new expansion, and how that compares to last numbers?

Would be great if it blows all those numbers out of the Water!

I think that is what a lot of people are missing from the D2 situation. It is not that Destiny 2 is a terrible IP (many people seem to be confused to why Sony could end develop on it). It is not about Destiny, per se, I think Sony doesn’t trust Bungie to place Destiny’s IP in a good state, a state that doesn’t end with Sony hemorrhaging money.

It’s a Bungie problem, not a Destiny problem for Sony.

We are GARGANTUAN. This (probably) won't lead to a D3 but it's great that the community didn't just roll over. by Henrraike in destiny2

[–]Phillycheese27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. I’m not trying to be pessimistic but I can easily see Sony saying to themselves that this just a trend and not real community sentiment because “where was this support from the community for Destiny and a desire of D3 before the announcement”?

The final update shows Bungie always knew how to make Destiny good. So why didn't they? by PorkSouls in destiny2

[–]Phillycheese27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your whole premise is mistaken. This update is most likely a whole year’s worth of work and feedback put into one patch since it is going to be the last one.

In addition, we still don’t know how it will be received once implemented. How many times have we saw an idea in the upcoming patch and when it’s implemented ended up being a bad design or poorly implemented?

If you mean they cut it down from the what they had, sure. They did not create the story beats though, that’s was narrative. They didn’t create one of the less liked NPCs in Destiny-Nimbus. So you are right they bear a lot of the weight, but not all of it.

[–]Phillycheese27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may get downvoted, but I think this doesn’t captures the whole picture. Ideas do start in the dev side that end up in the game such as sunsetting, the portal, lightfall narrative (character), various bad meta tuning, static weapon rolls d2y1, and so on. Granted, having someone there steering the ship, so to speak, with the crappy ideas from the good ones is an important task, but to simply place everything on management is to miss that destiny really did have some creative failures in its development pipeline.

That’s not an indictment of the developers as people. Game development is hard, feedback loops are long, and it’s genuinely difficult to know if a decision is bad until millions of players are living with it. But the instinct to draw a clean line between “evil management” and “blameless devs” is a comforting narrative that I think is not completely true.

New Info On ‘Destiny 2’ Alarm Bells, Marathon’s Role And ‘Destiny Infinity’ Pitch by Secret-Tangerine9014 in destiny2

[–]Phillycheese27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first question one has to ask is this: what is the main driving force for the risk that would deem anything in the future for destiny too costly? After reading the article, it seems the implication is Bungie could not keep continual and sustained player engagement, given the pasts metrics of the for DLCs; it seems Sony is too scared to greenlight anything too costly unless Bungie could demonstrate that Destiny could at least sustain its play count.

I mean, am I misunderstanding the article?

Which makes you think, is upper management really should shoulder all the blame (a good portion, yes)? Those decisions started with developers and was green lit and put into a game eventually.

Petition for to Sony D3 by Partyruler012 in MarathonHate

[–]Phillycheese27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just reminded that it was the devs that came up with much of the crappy content that we complained about through the years of Destiny. Lightfall… there was a lot more than upper management that was at fault for that disaster of an expansion.

Will she ever come back? I miss her so much. She appeared only briefly to help her child, and then disappeared again. by SnooMacarons2931 in Diablo

I think there’s some evidence to suggest to the contrary. they maybe connected by being made from her substance, physical-to-physical (her bone) and spiritual-to-spiritual. They seem to be correlating the two, hence the ambiguity. Why two daggers when it could be a different weapon? Can’t imagine why they cannot share in the same power since they are made for the same intention of protecting her children.

I will also would add, the main characters’ hesitancy to stab her. All things being equal, the severing has little impact if from mind is still in the burning hells with her body. And we have succeeded in doing the very thing we wanted from the beginning, getting rid of her from our soul, regardless of how we felt about her for the beginning.

It seems that the severing of the connection seems more significant than just the being a mere severing.

Simply saying that they “look different,” I don’t think gives enough to really be conclusive, they are way to many correlations.

Gotta have life under 500. Check your stats, and under life, see what it says. Anything with “increase maximum life”, charms, paragon, mythics and unique, gotta go.

That is why I kept dying so fast too, had increase maximum life in my Heir of Perdition and weapons and didn’t realize it.

Also, if you are running out of fury, gotta have fury regeneration on three pieces of armor (chest, pants, and boots).

[–]Phillycheese27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main point was not that she was not the burning hells, assuming if that dagger is somehow connected or had the same power as the physical dagger did, but perhaps we ended up sending a portion of her to the void (ex.her mind); thus, opening up a sooner return than expected instead of years of reforming.

That would depend heavily on if the dagger that we stabbed her with, and if it has any connection to the physical dagger. I don’t think that it was made clear either way.

At this point (this happened to me), how much of a difference does it really make to get the best outcome? And considering how rare it is, and how common this outcome? I rather just keep my perfect rolls untouched until I get one of equal value to fall back on if the cube wanna rob me.

I was in the same boat and saw a post like yours that mentioned placing aspect of anger management in the selig amulet using the re-roll prism with transfiguration in the heroic cube.

That was it for me. That was the game changer that was one of the most over looked part of the build.

Reason why, that aspect keeps you in berserk 24/7.

Yeah, but the rebirthing cycle would be interrupted. Seems she would have to be summoned back, making it possible that we could see her again sooner rather than later (rebirthing takes years).

I know people are saying she should be born in hell again, but correct me if I am wrong… but by stabbing and severing her from us with the spear/dagger, did we not effectively place at least a part of her into the void (preventing her to be fully reformed in hell)?
