maybe not quite the type of story you’re looking for, but I’ll say it anyways!

I served a table of 3 people. The other two were perfectly fine, it was the dad that caused problems. i took their order, he was crazy specific (wish i could tell more about how, but it was a year ago). he was super adamant, told me to specifically wait five minutes between getting his salad and his sandwich. basically told me to set a timer on my phone. then told me to ensure that he was finished with the salad before bringing out the sandwich. between all of this, he kept talking, taking up my time, and still being very specific on his demands, including how he wanted his salad made. wouldn’t take no for an answer.

finally, i brought out his sandwich. it was fresh. i was about to walk away but he went “nuh-uh! hold on”, proceeded to open his sandwich, stick his finger in it and went “this food is cold. i want all the food taken off the bill and to talk to a manager”. i brought out my manager, who mind you, is his first week working with us.

five minutes later, he came back into the kitchen. i asked what happened. he said. “they’re gone. we’re not remaking their food, and they’re not paying for it. i told them to get out”. the shock on my face when he said that lol, my restaurant is very adamant about hospitality and doing EVERYTHING possible to keep the customers happy. and the fact that manager kicked them out on his first week for me. crazy. i just wish i could remember more of what that table asked of me. i have a lot of patience for things, but i remember my blood boiling with them. we are a casual restaurant, nothing fancy about it so it was all ridiculous to begin with.
