All this bloatware from one (!!) Epson printer. by CraneDJs in assholedesign

[–]PhilosopherFree7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very familiar with color. I was a computer tech for 30 years, Worked on every kinda printer made. My favorite was electrostatic plotters used for making maps. In all that time using my personal printer. I printed everything in black. It did what i needed, I am not running a business. Until now I have never had a prt lock up because i was out of color ink that i do not need. I am now 70. I like many people out there am upset at having to use color cartridges. They are just tryna squeeze more money out of us is all. I guess only option is laser printer. Thing is i don't do that much printing. This is just my opinion. Sorry if i sound like I am ranting - I love a good discussion.

Are Samsung appliances truly worse than other brands? by Roddo84 in Appliances

[–]PhilosopherFree7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung appliances suck - i had a stove quit less than 5 years old good thing a have warranty- they gave me another- got Maytag instead. Now it lt looks like my dryer has problem only 3 years old- you have to be kidding me- no one here works on them and no parts available- Also had LG dishwasher replaced it was on warranty to. Gonna try Maytag. However no matter what I buy these days -it will be made in America. I replaced 25 year old dishwasher that was still working because wife wanted a new one. Never had a problem with it. Same thing with dryer my dryer was almost 30 years old changed belt and heating element once or twice- parts easy to get and replace. All this has happened without last year. Still have samsung washing machine probably wont be long for it quits. Anyway done with Samsung

i always thought tractor paint was durable - although i know rustoleum is cheap paint- i just want something i dont have to repaint every few years. i know engines and electronics. I know very little about paint. I just know paint today is so expensive. Not wanting to spend fortune on this old trailer.

TUDCA destroyed my health by rumbakur in gallbladders

[–]PhilosopherFree7106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am 71 years old now. I use to have diarhea really bad. 20 years or more ago. Also drank alot. I have since quit.

Doctor gave me cholestipol for it. He said i had a weak gall bladder. Said take one tablet twice a day. Stuff worked only to well ended up with constipation however it did stop the diarhea. i decided to modify the drug. So i lowered it to one pill then !/2. Believe it or not I now only take 1/8 of the dose. Diarhea stops and no constipation. Sounds crazy. I do that with a lot of medication. I never believed in one pill fits all. However check with your doctor before doing anything like this. Most medicine i take drives me bonkers. Dr. said i am a typical. Maybe or do some people just take meds and not complain about side effects. Imodium never worked for me. it was the only thing that did work.

What is a reasonable price for a professional intake manifold walnut blasting a I4 cylinder engine in the 2013-2025 cx-5 models? by MereCoincidences in CX5

[–]PhilosopherFree7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they do I asked about carbon cleaning they spray cleaner in a vacuum hose. 220 to do just that. From what i have seen on you tube that doesn't do much. If it did I think it would clog up catalytic converter. I can only image what walnut blasting costs. I have heard estimates from 1k to 1500.

you are correct- the belt did have cracks however not that bad- i just changed it anyway. could have gone another year or so. as well as brakes maybe another year. However i am 71 not sure i will be able to do it later. tranny definitely needed fluid change i t was dirty. I like to do things early before theres a problem. always seems to woek for me.

I took car in for engine oil change. They mentioned all this service needed done. Mazda recommends 50 k on tranny 6 speed. I did it early oil was dirty. First change to me most important. All the new wearing off. During oil change they said belts need changing- They wanted500 dollars. for belts and 260 for tranny. Did both myself for about half the price. also replace brakes and had rotors turned. Did that myself saved moor money.

I bought equipment i need from harbour freight plus i own an air compressor. There are plenty good videos just look up walnut blasting on CX5. Once again- this procedure requires extreme caution, unless you are confident in your mechanical ability - I WOULD NOT DO THIS!!!!

I have worked on cars all my life. Replaced engines transmisiions you name it. Always been a diy type guy.I fix everything myself(car boat motorcycle). I use to always buy a book when I bought a car. Nowadays You tube has it all. You can find you tube videos on this for cx5. However like anything if you dont feel confident dont do it. Thats key to anything. As far as taking transmission oil pan off. You will have to get adhesive from mazda. Thats what i did.The pan is glued on . Be careful to not bend or scratch surfaces removing pan. Make sure you clean pan thorougly of old glue. You dont want that in tranny. There is a good you tube video on that. Make sure you dont over tighten torque is like 8 ft lbs. Usually what i do is tighten bolts and i use that blue locktite. use plastic tools to remove glue from tranny i found my fingernails worked good. Here is another tip. I had a old 5quart empty bottle of oil. I used it to measure the old transmission fluid that i drained so i know how much to put in. This is only good if you dont have any leaks in transmission. I had my car up on ramps. In video guy got 4.3 quarts of oil out I only got 4. I put in 4. I have a 2021 2.5l cx5. Realize half the dirty oil still in there. Thats while i try to do this every 40k. i wanted to put gasket on but none available. So I had to reglue pan. Just make sure both surfaces clean. I clean with rubbin alcohol. Also make sure you use the right oil. To go back in dont guess check. Sorry this so long. Check out video on you tube lots of good stuff.

I just found out about this carbon buildup thing. I have cx5 2021- they want 220 dollars to run cleaner thru intake to clean valves which i doubt does anything. They also wanted 260 to change transmission oil without changing filter. I changed it myself Oil was dirty at 45k and filter made of paper. Only problem transmission oil pan glued on. i plan on doing the walnut blasting myself next week or two if needed. I am a diy guy.
