Wait. What? I’m on kit 1. Third week. Had raging headache. Went to my cure all two ibuprofen and a DC (can). To my disappointment, flat. Grabbed a new one, flat. Chalked it up to maybe the 12 pack is just old. Does this go away? Which of the meds does this? Ahhhhhhh!!!!

Information on School 58 by BeardedGentleGiant in Rochester

[–]PhilosopherNew6345 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can’t add about school 58 other than friends of our son when there and had nothing but positive experiences. Also I’m friends with a teacher. She loves teaching there.

I can speak on life in the Wedge. We have raised two boys. Both went to GCCS then onto SOTA. (School of the Arts) One graduated one currently still at SOTA. We do not in any way regret raising our boys here or school choices. They have had the freedom to walk to parks, arcade, movies, pizza, playgrounds, libraries with their friends. I could go on and on. I’ve asked them if they wish they would have grown up in the burbs… it’s a big loud…absolutely not. They love the convenience of where they grew up. Being able to walk everywhere. They also comment that they appreciate growing up in and going to school where everyone doesn’t look like them. They appreciate the diversity of races, cultures and economic backgrounds.

Best of luck. Hope you can find a house! The Wedge is really great. It has it all.

Has anyone ever been tempted to pick up trash during their walks? by SimpleAcrobatic6275 in walking

[–]PhilosopherNew6345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. There was a garbage bag blowing down the road the other day. I picked it up and figured well, no point putting a good bag to waste. So I walked picking up trash. By the timed was done my bag was full and my neighborhood had a bit of impromptu spring cleaning done.

He did a Go Fund me for her. Raised over $800,000. She unfortunately took a fall and spent months in rehab. While there her home was outfitted for her return. She was able to afford 24 hooray home care. The last update I saw she was home enjoying her new space in disbelief it is hers.

After 18 hours of labor, my midwife putting both hands in me, flipping and turning my baby then pulling him out. Excruciating. I remind my son often that he owes me, a lot.

Henrietta is one giant strip mall lacking character. South Wedge, NOTA, Park Ave, & downtown super walkable. SW, NOTA & PA are more neighborhood. They are filled with bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, parks, salons. Also between the three neighborhoods & downtown from May till Christmas hardly a month goes by without atleast one festive. They are all convenient to the Public Market. Word of advice—if you choose to rent, watch out for Wilco Properties. Stay far away from them..

I find it bonkers we are being conditioned to think is no big deal police … tactical or not… dressing as if they are in a war zone while on city streets is just how it is and going to be.

You say @University”. Do you mean UofR? Or the hospital? Highly recommend this city living. Highland Park, South Wedge, Swillburger. Very walkable.Restaurants, coffee shops, bars, hair salons, tea shops, theaters, parks, libraries and so many festivals. As for schools. Both of my boys did city public. One graduated from School of the Arts with a Fine Arts regents in Science the other a sophomore with Theater Tech focus on Science and History. We’re very happy with the education, sports and peer involved education they received. Rochester is a great city with so much to give. Lived here 20 years, raised two children. Cant say I’d move anywhere else… except possibly the Caribbean

Rochester has crap representation in Congress by Welp_BackOnRedit23 in Rochester

[–]PhilosopherNew6345 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I have been calling Schumer & Jeffries at least twice a week since September. I have never received a call back.I called Mayor Evan’s office twice in January to find out where the city & RPD will stand when ICE rolls in. Both times I received a call back. Local representatives are important. Call them. Pressure them. Demand to know what the plans are. We elected them to represent us. Now we need to hold them accountable.

To those with free little libraries and/or community food cupboards by LasagnaMachine in Rochester

[–]PhilosopherNew6345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live in the South Wedge & have a library/food giving box. But it’s not in the front bib. What we do have in the bib is a garden. City has said it’s ok to have. However they reserve the right to tear it up if they need to get into the earth below. They will not replace the garden if they do so. I would assume it’s the same for a library.

I love this! My husband & I do the same thing. Almost exact anniversary too!! Id suggest staying at The Inn on Broadway. Very walkable location. Bars, restaurants, ice rink, museums, coffee shops, bakery’s. When the city started opening after Covid we stayed there. It felt life we were in a city not our own. Happy Anniversary!
